Summary: Great Read
Review: And I have to disagree with the review on the book being a hard slog because it was written in the present tense, I think the fact that it was written as such gave it a very personal and intimate feel. I throughly enjoyed this book and will be reading more of the author.

Summary: better than it sounds!!
Review: from description of the book, i thought it would be rather stupid and the main character, Nina, sounded kind of shallow. but i thought what the heck, and gave it a shot. boy was i wrong sbout this book! although the story was a bit far fetched it was really cute. Nina, age 36, still lives at home, taking care of her family since her early 20s when her mother died, her one lasting dream has been freedom, to leave her home in Queens and travel the world. her best friend Joey has been living in his work ever since his fiancee left him at the alter, he finds theres something missing in his life and realizes that he want to be a father. Jokingly he asks Nina if she'll have his baby. she thinks about it more than she thinks she should. she comes to the conclusion that she really wants the experience of being pregnant and giving birth since she already knows what it's like to raise a child from raising her 4 siblings. so she decides to go through with it but she will give the baby over to Joey and leave. but when the time comes to leave she finds that her and Joey have more than friendship and that she not sure she wants to go! overall it's a great book with wonderful characters and fun all along the way! well i hope u enjoy this book as much as i did. have loads of fun!

Summary: The Nine Month Plan
Review: great read. I grew up in a Italian area in The Poconos and this book was very reminiscent of that area. I loved it. Several chuckles along with a few tears. I'd say you'd enjoy reading this.

Summary: Nine Month Plan
Review: I absolutely loved this book! The style it was written in allowed me to feel I was right there with them, having family dinners, shopping in Bloomingdale's, working at the pizza place. I cheered with them, laughed out loud many times, and cried, too. I even ate an entire jar of pickles while reading it, somehow feeling I was pregnant too. My only regret is that the sequel won't be out for months.

Summary: A Contemporarily Good Read!
Review: I found this book as a wonderful contemporary read! Great story line and characters are what kept me wanting to read more. Of course there are situations that happen to the characters that made me want to scream, but it also made me read further to find out how they handled it.
It is an enjoyable and entertaining read. Although, highly predictable, it is a wonderful journey with the Chickalini family!

Summary: The Perfect Beach Book!
Review: I just finished this book and it was the perfect beach and poolside book. I loved the glimpses into Nina and Joey's minds and sharing their fears, hopes and senses of humor. It was one of those books that you are dying to know the ending and when you reach the end, you just want to keep reading about the people in it. Really enjoyed it!

Summary: What's wrong with the past tense?
Review: I really liked the characters and the idea of this book, but I found it almost unreadable. The story was told completely through dialogue and the PRESENT tense. I've never read a book completely told in the present tense and now I know why. Although the reader might think this would increase the intimacy, it doesn't. Instead, the brain needs to slog through a tense that just doesn't work at all.

I've never read a book by Ms. Markham and never will again until she writes on the front that she uses past tenses.

Wasn't there an editor at Warner to point this difficulty out?
