Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Please! Review: Stacy's been so busy that it's been almost a full year since her last sexual encounter. She has one week before she becomes "revirginized." In several disasterous attempts at trying to avoid this at all possible costs, she fails miserably. I was thinking that she was challenged by some supernatural love force from reading the back of the book. Instead, she is just told by her best friend that she would be a virgin again after a year of no sex. Why would she follow his advise about things if she's as independent as she claims? The book actually wasn't too bad until the end. The last night before reclaiming her virginity, almost every person Stacy tries to have sex with during the previous week comes together and states their case for wanting to be with her. It's like deja vu of the end of "There's Something About Mary." That was really the only super hokey part. Read it if you must, but I would and could find better things to fill my time with.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Fun, Amusing Read Review: The Accidental Virgin is a fun, breezy, amusing read--nothing to tax the intellect, but sure to amuse. It is the story of Stacey Temple, a thirty-something singleton who works at thongs.com (you know the novel can't be too serious with a job like that). Stacey figures out that she has gone almost an entire year without sex (and barely noticed!). She becomes obsessed with avoiding becoming an "accidental virgin"--or someone who has gone without for 365 days. She's got a week left and a couple promising candidates, but nothing seems to go right for poor Stacey. This is a funny and very fluffy novel. You can read it in one sitting, and you will enjoy yourself.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The accidental hit! Review: The Accidental Virgin is one of the few chick novels that actually stand out. Frankel's story and dialogue are sharp and crisp. What makes this novel even more likeable is that the situation the heroine faces is quite original. Having devoted all of her time to thongs.com, an Internet company that sells women's lingerie, Stacy Temple realizes that she hasn't done the deed in almost a year. To her horror, she is told that she will be revirginized if she doesn't shatter her dry spell. So, all she has to do is find someone who's willing to sort her problem out. However, the aforementioned quest isn't as easy as she had hoped... The twists in the novel are refreshing and intriguing. Also, Frankel's comic timing is precise. I laughed on various occasions. The Accidental Virgin isn't the typical single-girl-looking-for-love-in-the-big-city chick lit -- it is a tour de force with clever misadventures and wicked humor.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Completely unbelievable Review: The idea behind this book is very cute, but the execution could have been so much better. The characters -- including Stacy Temple, the protagonist -- were totally flat and stereotypical. I didn't believe that any of them really existed for a minute. The plot was so predictable and ridiculous that it seemed Ms. Frankel wrote the book in one sitting with the very first ideas that popped into her head. This was not among the best of the chick lit category.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: humorous chick lit Review: Thirty-two years old Stacy Temple defies the laws of physics that says Manhattan is a swinging singles paradise. She has worked so hard over the past year that she lives in abstinence. The Gigi XXX Internet column insists that no sex for a year equate to theoretical virginity. A shocked Stacy realizes she is close to committing a capital offense especially for someone toiling at Thongs.com, a sexy lingerie on line shop. She decides to find a male to share some quick action, but has seven days to go before she wears the kick me sign in neon that emphasizes virgin territory. Who should do the honor: her former boyfriend, her buddy, a stranger, or an on-line date? Often witty, THE ACCIDENTAL VIRGIN focuses on a woman's quest for casual sex due to the belief that the worst felony in life for a thirty-something is being a virgin. Stacy is too intelligent and driven to worry about a virginity doomsday clock written over the Internet, a source of with information, but also misinformation and disinformation. Once the reader leaps past the inconceivable crusade, fans of chick lit will find a humorous tale especially when the story line focuses on the lead character's harried lifestyle. Harriet Klausner

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: thank goodness i didn't pay for this "smut!" Review: This book is possibly the worst book I have ever read. The content tends to be unbelievable, and all too often i saw myself skimming a page just so I could finally get the end. I shouldn't have even done that, however, since the end was so awful. It was completely obvious that the author just wanted to wrap everything up in a neat bow, even if it ended up being totally ridiculous.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Tasteless Review: This book is tasteless. Poorly written, vulgar and gauche. The author must have friends in the publishing industry because I can't imagine how else this thing made it onto the market. I have rarely, if ever, returned a book to a bookstore. This one goes back tomorrow. If you would like a funny, sexy read that has more class, try anything by Jennifer Crusie.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Breezy yet monotonous Review: This book was a fast read for me but 3/4 through I was getting annoyed with the redundant story line. The ending kept me going and it turned out to be lacking in my opinion. This is a nice & quick beach read but don't expect too much. I enjoy the open and sexy style but the storyline could have been better.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Trash Review: This is by far the worst chick lit book I have read (and I read 3-4 a month). I cannot relate to Stacey whatsoever.(...) Trying to sleep with a greasy delivery man just so she can get rid of her redeveloped virginity? Puh-lease. And the premise that all these men would all show up at her apartment in the end was just ridiculous. When I read a chick book I want a character I can relate to. By this I mean one who has typical insecurities, a great sense of humor, a tight group of interesting friends and who makes a fool out of herself but still comes out on top.
As a frame of reference, novels like these that I have read and liked recently (past year) are "Can You Keep a Secret?" by Sophie Kinsella (5 stars), "Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination" by Helen Fielding (4 stars), "Hard" by Emma Gold (4 1/2 stars), and "English As a Second Language," by Megan Crane (5 stars).
