Summary: A Highland Love
Review: This was another one of Jude Deveraux's books i could not put down. I have read all of her books and am on my last four with the montgomery series. Highland Velvet was a romantic tale with lots of laughs. You get so tied into their lives and how they feel. You begin to fall in love with Stephen Montgomery right away. Bronwyn is a strong female who is made to marry an Englishman whom she hates because they killed her father. Throughout the book even on the last page you are smiling about how sweet Stephen is and what he does for the woman he loves. This book I recommend to everyone who loves a wonderful romance novel.

Summary: An Intro
Review: This was my first book into the romance world. It was a book I read twice since I loved it so much. The telling of the story was wonderful! I knew this was part of a series and reading the others helped not to forget about Alyx and Raine. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!

Summary: The place to start for your first time.
Review: This was the first Romance novel I ever read. I always thought romance novels were trashy. I never imagined a book like Velvet Song would carry me off into another world. I read every Deveraux book I could get my hands on... Raine is wonderful

Summary: My Favorite
Review: This was when it all began.. To this day, i've read the bookhundreds of time and never get bored. I've also started a habit ofcollecting Mss Deverauxs' books. I wish there were more series to the Montgomerys. My thanks to the author. And to those who are considering the book: it's the best!

Summary: Perfect Song
Review: Unlike some other veiwers who said they were dissapointed in the Raine character, I found him to be wonderful. I like that all four brothers were different from each other in the Velvet Series and Raine was definitly different. I appreciated the character more than the other brothers (except Miles for obvious reasons). This is definitly a good book. I read it in one evening. You must Read all four of the books to get a good appreciation. In order of what book was intended to be read first to last is 1) The Velvet Promise 2) Highland Velvet 3)Velvet Song 4)Velvet Angel.
Also keep in mind that these books did have more sexual content than most of Jude Deveraux's newer books. Obviously people read romance for the dirty stuff...I found it a bit unneccisary (I spelled that wrong Im sure).

Summary: A fast entertaining read!
Review: Whenever I am stressed out, I usually try to escape into one of Deveraux's books ~~ and when I am finished reading it, I am all better for it. This book is just a cure for those blues when you've got them!

It's written with Deveraux's magical spell ~~ yes, she writes romances with the heroine full of sassy spirit and beauty who falls in love with the big bad man with the heart of gold and they have fights and arguments full of spark and flares ~~ but every book she has written is still different from the last one and still just as enchanting as always. This book is just as wonderful as the others.

Alyx Blackett is on the run from a lecherous Earl who had murdered her father and set her home on fire because she resisted his attempts to rape her. She joins the band of outlaws in the forest diguised as the leader's squire. Raine Montgomery is on the run from the King for trying to raise an army to rebel against the King (which is a rumor and isn't true) and sparks begin to fly between Alyx and Raine and the battles they endure to ensure their love for one another is nothing but fun to read ~~ and you just can't help but be carried away into another time and place.

If you're looking for a quick escape from reality ~~ this book is a perfect fit for that escape!

Summary: Book three of the "Velvet" series...
Review: While I enjoyed the first two books in the "Velvet" series, I was a bit disappointed with this one. Why? Mainly because Raine is such a jerk for most of the book. Normally this would not have bothered me, but when he was introduced in "The Velvet Promise" he was the funny, caring brother. While he was wonderful to his sister-in-laws Judith and Bronwyn, here he is just plain horrible to Alyx. Not to say that she is perfect. She is far from as she is the typical Deveraux heroine: strong willed, stubborn, heading into trouble without a thought. The plot device that has her hide as a boy is interesting though, as is her friendship with Jocelyn (a character we were introduced to in "The Velvet Promise"). As a whole the overall story is well-written and I would definitely recommend reading this one. Just be warned: Raine is having a bad day for most of it.
