Summary: Attention: this rating is based on a Nora Roberts scale!
Review: I have to admit that I go back to Nora from time to time when I am looking for purely mindless reading. I found Sweet Revenge on a bookshelf (probably an aquisition from the college days) and devoured it in two nights. The plot was a little outrageous and there wasn't much that could explain how the protagonist got her training to be a jewel thief extraordinaire, but it was INDEED entertaining. I liked all of the characters as a whole and found it to be a relaxing way to kill a few hours. By the way, I have noticed that I prefer the old Nora, such as Sweet Revenge and Montana Sky, to her newer stuff. Who knows...

Summary: Great story!!!
Review: I love this story! I disagree to some reviewers who find it boring and thinks that only a true Nora Roberts' fan will give it a 4 or 5 star. I have no idea who is Nora Roberts before I read this book. I happened to picked this book up in the library and read the summery behind the paper back. And I decided to borrow it. And was I amazed! I got so adicted to the story and the characters that I could not put the book down. I never finish a story book within a day. And I did for this one. I wish this book could be make into a movie. It will be interesting. Recently, I just watched this movie "The Sleeping Dictionary" and the leads, Hugh Dancy & Jessica Alba remind me of the Princess Adrianne & Phillip in "Sweet Revenge". I think Jessica Alba will make a stunning Princess Adrianne and Hugh Dancy will look great as the handsome English man, Phillip. Anyway, this is kind of out of topic. I highly recommend "Sweet Revenge" to non Nora Roberts' fan and those who are her fans and haven't got the chance to read it. You will love it!

Summary: Very Exotic
Review: I loved this book, it was a great read! My only complain is that the ending is a little confusing. But that was just momentarily, and didn't diminish the quality of the book. Couldn't put it down, fast paced!

Summary: Most Romantic Book Out of Ten
Review: I made one little comment to my sister about enjoying romance novels, and she pulled ten of her favorite "must read" romance novels off of her bookshelf and handed them all to me. Since I was on my summer break, and I had nothing better to do with my time, I read through all of them. This was the last one I got around to reading. While there had been some I'd enjoyed more than others, I thought that in general, by this time, I knew the formula for all romance novels, and that if you'd read one, you'd read them all. But while this did stick to the general formula, it added a chemistry to the relationship of the characters that none of the other books had had. More than in any of the other romance novels, I could tell the two characters in this book were really meant for one another and hadn't just ended up together by chance. I just couldn't help but be swept away by the way the two of them understood one another.

Summary: My BEST romance book since!
Review: I must say that this book has made me the MOST devoted Nora Roberts fan. When i first saw the book on a library shelf i was hesitant to borrow it but man am i happy i gave in to my impulse. I have reread it like 10 times and am still not sick of it. The romance between Addy and Philip was just PERFECT. pokay....so what if it was a little unbelievable......but still it was breathtaking. i telling u to read this book. its worth it.

Summary: A fast-paced and fascinating story
Review: I really enjoyed "Sweet Revenge" by Nora Roberts. Although it is one of her less reality based stories, her ability to draw the reader into the world she has created stops this from being an issue. The two main characters are likeable and well-developed and the story is full of excitement. This book kept me turning pages half the night!
The beginning of the book is incredibly heart-rending and upsetting. The reader is introduced to Phoebe Spring, an american actress who has left her world behind to live with the man she loves, Abdu, in his native country of Jaquir (a fictitious Muslim country). When Phoebe gives birth to a girl and subsequently finds out she can no longer bear children, Abdu decides that he no longer has any use for her. He takes away the "Sun and the Moon" a priceless necklace containing a giant pearl and diamond, that was his bride gift to Phoebe. Abdu takes more wives and regularly beats and rapes Phoebe. On top of that, King Abdu despises Princess Adrianne, his first-born child, because she is a girl and because she came from Phoebe.
When Adrianne is 8 years old, Phoebe risks life and limb to escape from Jaquir and give Adrianne a life of freedom in America. Phoebe tries to return to a career in acting, but Abdu has broken her spirit and she suffers from terrible depression until she eventually dies from an overdose of pills and alcohol. This part of the story is very well-written.
We pick up the story with Princess Adrianne as an adult (in her twenties) living a life of glamour as a prominent figure in society. But this is just a front to cover up the fact that she is really a master jewel thief. Princess Adrianne then meets Phillip Chamberlain, a retired jewel thief who now works as an investigater for Interpol. The relationship that develops between these two is fresh and heart-warming, and as they learn to trust each other their scenes together really sizzle!
But Adrianne has never forgotten her father's cruelty to her mother and plans to get the ultimate revenge on him by stealing the "Sun and the Moon", his most prized possession. Together, Phillip and Adrianne travel to Jaquir to bring justice to Phoebe by punishing Abdu for his brutality. But their mission is the most dangerous either has ever embarked on, and any mistake will mean death for both of them!
This book is a great read. It is full of adventure and romance, and really keeps the reader's attention. So pick up this book, forget your troubles for a few hours, and get completely wrapped up in the lives of Adrianne and Phillip as they take their Sweet Revenge!

Summary: very exciting
Review: I really enjoyed this book by Nora Roberts. I was entertained for 3 days reading it. I was surprised with the ending though but all and all it was very exciting.

Summary: Riveting reading
Review: I've read about 30 Nora Roberts books and there are very few I haven't liked, which makes it hard to choose favorites! But this would have to be one of them -- "un-put-downable" to the end. Sure, it's not exactly her most realism-based book -- a fictional country, a jewel-thieving princess, an Interpol agent who happens to be an ex-thief himself -- but who reads for realism anyway? The tension that Adrianne felt returning to her native Jacquir transmitted to the reader, and I couldn't wait for her to get out safely. A very good read.
