Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent! Review: "Taming Charlotte" is another excellent romantic escape by Linda Lael Miller. I have to go out now and find "Yankee Wife" which is part one and "Princess Annie" which is part two of the series.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best of her books. Review: Charlotte is a brave, young girl that will make you both laugh and cry. A great follow-up book to Yankee Wife and lead-in to Princess Annie. One of the first romance books I've read that leaves you worrying until the last page. Of course, there's a happy ending but the journey there wasn't so easy. With the exception of the harem, a story that could very easily take place today. Truly wonderful.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: another Miller classic Review: Millers heroins traits of strong wills and high pride do not lack in this exciting adventure/romance novel surely to capture your heart.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Unique setting but otherwise typical Miller historical Review: The luscious exotic settings of this book - the market in Morocco, the sultan's palace and harem in Riz, the villa in Costa de Cielo (Spain), and the tropical Sugar Plantation island - were described in such brillant detail that they came to life right off the pages!
I found Charlotte to be headstrong spoiled brat who seemed to purposely say and do things that interfered with her getting along with people, especially Patrick. She was so unnecessarily argumentative towards him (and toward other characters, such as Rashad). Still, she was a likable hero because she stood up for herself, and wouldn't put up with men treating her like a second-class citizen. Instead, she used her adventurous intelligence to work alongside the physically strong men in times of trouble to resolve the situations. Additionally, Charlotte was an attentive nursemaid to the wounded, ill and persecuted.
Patrick was also a likeable hero, despite the fact that he forcefully pushed away people he loved. I disagree with the description on the back cover that he was no gentleman. He treated the woman with far more gentleness and respect than his contemporaries, and had a strong sense of responsibility and protectiveness towards them.
This was a typical historical romance, using a lot of unnecessary conflict and bickering between the two lovers. The sensuality and sex was steamy and frequent.
