Rating: Summary: Good and Intense !! Review: "Breakfast in Bed" is very special; because to me, the way these relationships always end up is in misery and all those bad feelings. Sloan Fairchild is the owner of this elegant bed-and-breakfast inn, and it's called Fairchild House. Sloan focuses all her energy into Fairchild House and in a way Fairchild House is her sanctuary from the outside world, because in the outside world, Sloan has been hurt too many times and she's sort of hiding from it. Sloan promises her best friend, Alicia to let Alicia's fiancé live in Fairchild House for a month. It was a big mistake... because as soon as Sloan opened that door to let Carter Madison into that house, Alicia's fiancé, there was instant sexual tension. Carter Madison came to Fairchild House, to work on the last chapter of his book. What he didn't expect was to feel the passion and desire for his fiancée's best friend. Sloan and Carter try to ignore the mutual passion and desire, because of Alicia, but it's very hard. The time comes when Carter ahs to leave, to marry Alicia, but would Carter be able to leave and fulfill his wedding vows to Alicia? I love this book because of the strong will power Carter and Sloan shows, to restrain themselves of their passion and desire. I think it's really magical and it's really good. I stayed up until very late to finish "Breakfast in Bed" and it was worth it.
Rating: Summary: This book kept me wanting more!! Review: As a big fan of Ms. Brown, I wanted to say I was not disappointed! It is definetly a book I will read again and again. Rating: Summary: Very interesting, couldn't put the book down. Review: Breakfast in Bed was the first book my sister and I read of Sandra Brown. Now, I buy the books and she reads two at a time to my one :o) Sandra's books keep you interested. Although I don't think that young girls should be reading these books, when they become women then they should not miss any of them :o)
Rating: Summary: Engrossing tale from Brown when she was a romance novelist Review: Heard the taped version of Sandra Brown's BREAKFAST IN BED . . . written back in 1983, this appears to be one of her earlier books . . . she was strictly a romance novelist then . . . Brown subsequently shifted gears to write mystery thrillers, many of which I have enjoyed (especially since they are almost always different) . . . what seems to have happened: when she became so popular, her publisher took to reissuing her earlier works in both paperback and cassette versions . . . this surprisingly engrossing tale is about a woman, jilted by her boyfriend, who directs all her energy into running an elegant bed-and-breakfast inn . . . everything is safe and comfortable until a successful author appears on her doorstep to finish his latest project . . . they naturally fall in love; however, the author also happens to be her best friend's fiance . . . I must admit that several steamy love scenes also helped keep my attention . . . Richard Poe's narration was excellent.
Rating: Summary: Audio Recording Could Have Been Better! Review: I also listened to the audio cassette version and didn't like it, the story seems like it was good but I just wasn't impressed with Robin Mattson's reading. Don't get me wrong, I actually like Robin Mattson and think she's a good actor but I wish she had put more warmth and emotion into this reading but I guess the low-key reading performance is how the director and producer of this audio recording wanted her to read it but they should have let Robin go for a more dramatic reading that would have shown how good of an actor she is because really she is much better than this so I really can't blame her for the faults with this audio recording. I'm thinking of going to a used book store and looking for the paperback version of Sandra Brown's Breakfast in Bed because the story itself was kind of enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: Audio Recording Could Have Been Better! Review: I also listened to the audio cassette version and didn't like it, the story seems like it was good but I just wasn't impressed with the audio recording and felt it was kind of flat and I'm thinking of going to a used book store and looking for the paperback version of Sandra Brown's Breakfast in Bed because the story itself was kind of enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: One Of The Best From Sandra Brown Review: I am 13 years old and I've read almost every Sandra Brown book, but I read my first book by her when I was 12 and it was Breakfast in Bed. it was the book that got me so interested in Sandre brown books. I never thought I would be able to read the whole thing, but after I read the first page I couldn't put it down. It kept me interested from the very first page to the end. It is about a woman named Sloan Fairchild, she runs a Bed and Breakfast and she hasn't had much luck with men until she meets her best friend's fiance who has come to stay in the Bed and Breakfast so he can finish the book he is writing. Sloan is istantly intriqued by him, but she has to decide either to betray her friend or let her true love escape her
Rating: Summary: This made my 1 hour commute go quickly Review: I am always on the look out for good easy listening books. This proved to be one of Ms. Browns best books. I found myself not wanting to get out of the car.
Rating: Summary: Didn't like the abridged audio tape version! Review: I bought the abridged audio tape because I like the actress who reads it, I have seen her on several different soap operas and TV guest appearances and I have always though that she was a good actress but I'm disappointed with her reading of this book she sounded flat and unemotional and used the same voice for each character and I like it when they use different voices for all the different characters so I was just not happy with the audio tape at all and promptly gave it away! I see the unabridged audio tape version is read by someone else but since I didn't like the abridged tape version I definitely will not buy the unabridged tapes!
Rating: Summary: A little far fetched but... Review: I enjoyed it, it was a typical romance. But it was a little far fetched, relationships do not move that quick, but it's one of Sandra's older ones and believe me, she's only gotten better as the years go on!
