Summary: Sequel to Once a Princess
Review: King Stefan's cousin Vasili is a rogue of the worst kind. Women swarm to him in droves thanks to his incredibly handsome face. He has just discovered that his late father betrothed him 15 years before to a Russian baroness. Now he must go and collect his bride. But he is determined to show her what a cad he is so she will cry off the wedding. Alexandra prefers the independent life. She has been breeding and raising her own horses for years. Now her father has admitted that she is betrothed and that her groom is soon to arrive. She is honorbound to marry him. Furious, Alex refuses to present herself as the lady that she is and is determined that Vasili becomes disgusted enough with her to call off the wedding never realizing that he is as honorbound as she is. Now as they make the trip from Russia to Cardinia they are each determined to get the other to cry off. But something goes wrong. There is an underlying attraction between the two and to their dismay it is pulling them right into each other's arms.

I have to say that I sided with Alexandra the whole time. Vasili rubbed me the wrong way in Once a Princess and continued to do so in this story. Although, like Alex, I too soon succumbed to his charms in the end. Alex was strong, independent, feisty, and wonderfully funny. I loved her! This is no milk-and-water miss to fall at anyone's feet. Especially an arrogant rogue no matter how good his looks. A great story that keeps you laughing through the whole book.

Summary: Great Book
Review: This is a unique book and departs from the old romance novel plots. This is my first JL book and this is a great introduction to her writing. Alex is a unique and lovable heroine. I found the hero a little annoying at first b/c he thinks too highly of himself, and I found myself liking Stefan instead. Though this book made me want to read Tanya's and Stefan's story, this book was a fast read and kept me laughing.

Summary: A must Read!
Review: Set back in Russian times, this book is a beautifully written historical romance. The "drop dead" gorgeous Count Vasili, must honor his deceased fathers so called wish, for him to wed. His mind is set on making his bride to be loathe and despise him. Little does he know that, the stubborn though well bred, Alexandra (his bride to be) has the same thing in mind. Known for her manner of always saying "the truth", this is a "no holds barred" battle between two stubborn Fools. You will love the misunderstandings and humour that goes on between these two. This is a must read for anyone who enjoys lighthearted and hilarious banter between two people who are obviously made for one another. I recommend this book wholeheartedly!

Summary: Engrossing plot, exciting characters
Review: One of Johanna Lindsay's finest works of romantic fiction. Alex, the whip-brandishing heroine is one of the most unusual, and delightful romantic leads I've ever had the pleasure to read. The book was certainly unique; featuring fresh ideas and characters not frequently found in historical romance. The setting was unique, too. Lindsay made a wonderful decision to revisit the eastern hemisphere to continue the saga she began with Stefan and Tanya in Once a Princess. You really get more for your $ with this book!

Summary: An All-around Treasure
Review: I am a huge JL fan and this book is assuredly one of my favorites. NOt only does it have a strong historic background and melting romance, but it is also extremely funny and at times laugh out loud hilarious. The sexual tension is incredible as is the witty repartee between Alex and Vasili. It is just all around a great read.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Rather disappointing
Review: When I read this book's summary, I thought that it will be really good, because before this book, I have read the book, "Once a Princess" and I enjoyed it. This book is a series to it, with the nearly the same characters. But all the arguments and stuff between Vasili and Alexandra were rather boring, although some were quite funny. But not much romance was in it, so I think that this book is a disappointment to me.
