Summary: Why Pamie Kicks Every Kind of ...
Review: ....

Those of us who have been following pamie.com for some time have known that Pamela Ribon is a talented writer. She'll make you laugh until your sides ache, and then she'll turn around and break your heart and leave you trying to wipe the tears out of your eyes before the person in the cube across from yours realizes you're crying. So when I heard she had written a book, I couldn't wait to read it.

Once I actually got my hands on the book, I couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting, and I was again reminded of why she's one of my favorite writers.

This is a terrifically crafted story. While it may appeal to the same demographic as Bridget Jones, don't be fooled into thinking it's another knock off. Reading this book was like hanging out with your best friend and getting to read her journal all at the same time. It's funny, it's touching, and it has a lot of heart.

Girls - this should be required reading. You should buy this book just for the piece on "How to Fake a Football Orgasm" alone (if I'd read that before last year's football season I might have saved a relationship). Guys, if you want to know how to get to us - read this book.

Summary: Entertaining and Funny -- A Real Find
Review: I read this book instead of eating dinner. I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more from this amazing author.

Summary: This book is all sorts of funny!
Review: I started reading Why Girls are Weird around 10:30 am and finished before 1PM. I couldn't put it down! It's genuinely funny, and if you don't fall a little in love with Anna there's something wrong with you.
Some authors find was to say things you've thought or felt but lacked to words to say yourself. Pamela Ribon is one such author. Buy this book!

Summary: Charming and Funny
Review: I loved the format of the book, with the online journal portions, and the IM discussions. Anna Koval is an engaging character, and her interactions with her family help make her more real. Some portions had me laughing hysterically, and some made me want to cry, which always means I enjoy the book. I liked the ending. Not happy, not sad. Real.

Summary: Eeeh...
Review: This book was simply "OK."
1. The characters were flat. I felt like they were all written in the same voice. There wasn't much differentiation between Anna, Kurt, and Dale. Her sisters were one-dimensional caricatures. No one felt "real." Even Smith, who seemed to be the most separate personality, seemed forced.
2. The story played on too many cliches, such as the misunderstanding between Kurt and Anna. We've seen that before; it's not funny on Friends, and it's not funny now.
3. The story also played on stereotypes of women, which was annoying (e.g. all women want to get married).
I've read her web site and found it fairly good, but I was never fanatic in the least. Saying that, the web site humor did not translate that well into book form. There could have been so much more there with online journal vs. real life, but she never delved deep. It was way too breezy and light without being that funny.

Summary: Fun to Read
Review: I enjoyed reading this book. The character was a bit different than usual and I liked that. This was despite two aspects of her character that I couldn't relate to (1. she smoked relentlessly (gross) and 2. she doesn't like the Simpsons.). I'm a pretty big chick lit fan and was given this book for my birthday and hadn't heard of it before. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I'll be looking forward to the author's next book later this year.

Summary: Couldnt Put it down
Review: I saw this book, and never heard if it before, but the title had me interested. Pretty much the best book Ihave read in a long time. I laughed my butt off. AWESOME READ. Cant wait for the next book.

Summary: Smart, Funny, Real
Review: This is a smart, funny, great read. Ribon's book is laugh-out-loud funny, but grounded in reality. In a world of "Bridget Jones" imitators, this is a true original and one that reaches far beyond the "chick lit" genre. I hope she writes another one soon.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: Yes, it is Chick-Lit but it has something a lot of books are lacking--insight. On the surface we have this girl who's torn over her ex, her online boyfriend, and lies spread through her website. When we dig deeper we find a well rounded character who has problems aside from boys and shopping; her dad dies, people around her are getting married, she doesn't know who she is...

You can't help but love Anna K, her friends, and her mistakes. It's hard not to love this book because beneath the good writing is a character many women can relate to.

I hope Pamela Ribon writes more books in the future because I loved Why Girls Are Weird and love reading her website.

Summary: This was THE FUNNIEST book I've read all year...
Review: I loved this book. In essence it is about all of the bizare things that people do or think about that no one really ever discusses. It's very REAL and HONEST. I could totally relate to the author and found myself saying "OMG I thought that to," or "I'm not the only one!" From the Barbies to the TINY HAND to boobs... this book will crack you up! It's totally worth buying!
