Rating: Summary: First Teresa Medeiros book I have ever read Review: What a fantastic book, I picked it up on the spur of the moment and am so glad I did. I love it when an author continues a book in a sequal so was doubly excited to find out I could read Tristens and Arian's story. Ms. Medeiros is talented in a way so few authors are. She can combine humor and a captivating story all in one. Humor is often missing in this type of book. That is why I do not usually read them. To pick up a love story that can make you bust a gut with laughter is such a joy. Now don't get me wrong this is not a comedy, but the author has a way of breaking those tense moments with a little laugh now and then which I find wonderfully refreashing. I will be picking up more of her books that is for sure.
Rating: Summary: This book rocked! Review: What a wonderful blend of romance and fantasy! Yes, you have to have an appreciation for satire and keen wit to truly take Medeiros's work to heart because she writes so darned "smart". What amazed me was that even though this book was very funny, it also yanked my heart out of my chest during the final scenes in New York. I can't remember the last time I read anything so tender and touching.
Rating: Summary: Not so enchanting Review: When I read the back cover, I was intrigued. It was fairly good until about 2/3 through. Then it just got completely ridiculous. There were some silly parts previously, but I could turn a blind eye. Many of the pun devices she used in the end completely turned me off. I will suspend reality to an extent, but it went a little far. Several other reviewer picked apart the same things I saw - pajamas, amulet, etc. - so I won't go into more specifics.
Rating: Summary: Enchanting Review: While this book hardly takes a genius to read... it's funny, cute and utterly adorable characters make it likable. Tabitha utterly disgusted with the knowledge that she's a witch in the 20th century strives to find a way scientifically for everything that occurs on the universe. She doesn't realize though that love can be magic until she's transported in time and finds herself at the mercy of a handsome knight named Colin. When sparks began to fly, so do the accusations. Suddenly Tabitha is faced with a real reason for hating being a witch. She's about to be burned for being one. Only after she realizes what a selfish individual she is, does she begin to understand how she should cherish her gift and those people she can protect with it. Touch of Enchantment is a quick read. The romance is not as enduring as in some of Teresa's other books. But it's a nice followup to Breath of Magic. And don't get me wrong, it does have it's wonderfully sexy moments. An overall, nice book to read at the beach or on a rainy day where you just might find yourself wishing to be somewhere else!
