Summary: Completely forgettable
Review: The feisty governess, difficult children and sprightly governess has been done elsewhere so many time and a lot better. None of the characters have depth , and the degree of either sensuality or witty repartee is totally lacking. Fine if you have nothing better to pass the time with, but this is not a stand out novel, and it is quite telling that there is a request at the back of the book for aspiring authors to start submitting proposals. They really are scraping the bottom of the Regency genre barrel at this stage to keep churning out such predictable fluff.

Summary: A Good Read
Review: This is a story of a spirited, meddling sprite and a lord that thinks that he must be above reproach. Anthony Elliot has single handedly save his family from ruin both financially and socially. The Elliot's are a disreputable family that has always been on the very edge of ruin.

Anna Thraxton is a free spirit that has had to work to save her grandfather from debtors prison. She has become the premier governess in London. She handles only the worst children, turning then into angels.

Anthony inherits his cousins five hellions and is determined to mold them into model citizens. He becomes desparate to find someone who can tame the children. He hires Anna hoping that she can make a difference.

The minute that he touches her they each know that there is a powerful attraction between them. They both fight the attraction is varios ways but fate and love win the day. This is an enjoyable read that will leave you smiling.

Summary: Her Best Yet!
Review: This is exactly what I want when I pick up a romance novel. It has all the right elements to make it great, including well-drawn characters, a good story line, and five unruly children that make the entire book.
Hawkins brings two characters from her last book, The Seduction of Sara, back in An Affair to Remember, and turns up the heat between them. If you've read the Sara story, you will have already met Anna Thraxton and Anthony Elliot and you'll understand exactly what I mean when I say: What chemistry! Add five children into the mix and you will get one great book from beginning to end. I especially liked the scene at the pond as told from the children's point of view. Since I have no intentions of spoiling the story, make sure you read the book to find out what I mean. It really is well worth it!

Summary: The very best!!!
Review: To be honest, there hasn't been many quality historical romance books on the market for a long time. Ms. Lauren's cynster series has dragged on and on, and has become rather cliche and formulated indeed. Ms. Dodd's governess series drags on with the same spy and governess plot, although the last "My favourite Bride", hadn't been too bad. Ms. Garwood is still trying her hand out at writing contemparies and I'm still eagerly awaiting her next historical romance on highland lords and such, where her talent really lies. And Ms. Ennoch has seem to lost the witty and enthralling talent at writing since "Reforming a Rake", or perhaps it is the plot. "An Affair to Remember" however,is indeed something to be remembered. This is the best quality book on the market since Julia Quinn's last book! (And i have very high expectations for "Further Observations of Lady Whistledown") If one is a historical romance fan, one simply MUST read this latest from Karen Hawkins. It is even better then "The seduction of Sara" and one has high expectations indeed on Ms. Hawkin's next book on Brand St John.

Summary: What's a girl to do?
Review: Well, I have finally found another authoress worth her weight in gold!

This is simply an exquisite romance novel; full of humour, wit, sex, and independent, intelligent women!!!!!

I first met Anthony and Anna in 'the seduciton of sara' (Anthony's sister and Anna's best friend) and found them both amusing then ..... but Hawkins out does herself in this one! Anthony Elliot, the Earl of Greyley, 'pits' his wits against his(unconventional) governess, Anna Thraxton (one of 'the thraxtons'): all I will say is that Anna thinks Anthony could do with 'taking down a peg or two' and she just knows she's the one who can do it! ..... the most amusing, simply excellent storyline and romance is the result of Anna's scheme and I'm telling you now, you will not have read a story this good in a looooooooooooooooong while!

I really love the St Johns men and think that Hawkins imagination and unique storylines get better and better with every story I read!

If you want something that is unique, entertaining, and a joy to read: then this is your one stop shop! I give this one a 5++.
