Rating: Summary: ok this couple Review: After reading The Seduction of Sara All I thought was what happened with her brother and her friend. Well now I know what happened. I really liked this story I can't wait to see what happens to the family in a hole.
Rating: Summary: A Pleasent Read Review: Although this book did not have as much punch as I prefer it was still a pleasent read which was saved by many secondary characters such as the children and Anna's grandfather.Sparks fly between Anthony and Anna, and unfortunatly they were never really allowed to smolder until the very end. The story dragged several times and for this I give the story 3 stars. This is a very talented author and I have enjoyed her stories in the past and hope that her next story is up to her normal standards.
Rating: Summary: Not that memorable Review: An affair to remember??? I don't think so. This book had a good, though typical, storyline. Anthony becomes the guardian of five young mischievious children whom he apparently doesn't get along with. He can't keep a governess employed for more than two weeks at time. After he goes through many he hires the best governess, Anna Thraxton. She comes to the estate and gets the children in line and everyone else too. This just wasn't the story I thought it would be. Anna and Anthony had sparks flying off the pages but it wasn't enough to keep me riveted to the pages to see what would happen. The children kept the story entertaining, along with Anna's grandfather. He was such a sweet old man. This story just seemed to drag by until the last few chapters. This is much like the other Hawkins book I read, The Seduction of Sara. Sorry I couldn't agree with everyone else who apparently seemed to love this story. I just don't think it's a book I'll remember.
Rating: Summary: Electric!!! Review: Anna and Anthony are electric. I could feel the sparks in each and every page. Karen Hawkins has written another one of those 'can't put the darn thing down' books and another keeper for my bookshelf. I loved it. I am eagerly looking forward to the next installment in the talisman ring series. ...
Rating: Summary: Anthony and Anna - you just knew they had to get together! Review: Anthony and Anna had been sparring since the Seduction of Sara - they were both so strong willed and opinionated - what a heady mixture! Anthony becomes the caretaker of 5 of his 1/2 brother's children and they need a strong governess - enter Anna Thraxton Anthony's sisters best friend. They have known each other forever and always clashed. Well the old saying there is a fine line between love and hate - and of course the love eventually wins out in this battle of wills. Strong chemistry between Anthony and Anna makes this a very enjoyable read!
Rating: Summary: Lots of good Belly laughs Review: Anthony Elliot, the bachelor Earl of Greyley, at the reading of his cousin's will found himself the immediate recipient of five new wards. He appeared non pulsed but knew that he needed a governess and fast! After going through several, he determined that not just any governess would do; he needs the best! That the best just happens to be the most stubborn aggravating female he's ever known is the problem. The very unconventional Anna Thraxton, his sister Sara's very best friend, is a gently bred woman fallen on hard times, yet who speaks her mind, and offers her opinion whether asked for or not, and in general, is the last person he wants staying with him at Greyley house - but desperate times call for desperate measures! The children need to be taken in hand, and so through some very underhanded negotiations, he convinces Anna, who moves in and quickly makes headway with the children and the earl at the same time. Anna, although sorely aggravated by Anthony's high handedness was nonetheless, not immune to his considerable charms. Having once traveled in the high society of the ton she had to remind herself, more often than not, that she was an employee, even though the chemistry between them was heating up to a very fevered pitch! The children are delightful, though hellions, as is Anna's grandpapa, and the numerous other well-drawn secondary characters who will keep you deep in chuckles and belly laughs. Having read the "Seduction of Sara" I looked forward to this sequel and was not disappointed - a very charming romance with witty and humorous dialog and a lot of nice sensual teasing and love scenes.

Rating: Summary: Good Book, Entertaining Review: Good book. Likeable characters and decent plot. There were a few things that I would like to see wrapped up in another book. The author never addressed why one of the children doesn't talk. This was the first book I've read by Karen Hawkins and although it's not one of my top 10 books, it was good enough that I will read her next one.
Rating: Summary: Her Best Yet!!! 4 & 1/2 stars for this one!!! Review: Hawkins has written an engaging, beautiful story...unlike the others, this one has intrigue and memorable characters, not sappy ones. I loved Anna and Anthony such personalities! However Anna's grandfather stole my heart...sweet and cunning old man. The children are cute, especially the youngest one and they had me laughing outloud!!! Didn't give the five stars because I wanted to see what happened with Richard, he never spoke, I wanted to see his grandmother exposed and thrown out on her ear, and I wanted to see what happened to the other couple???!!! The ending needed a little tweaking, that's all. All in all I loved it, this one is your best Julia! Keep it up!!!
Rating: Summary: Perfectly wonderful! Review: I adored every page of this book! Karen Hawkins has a real winner here. From the very first sentence, I was drawn into the story and the characters. Greyley is marvelously arrogant and "growly" while Sara is a nearly perfect heroine--strong, determined, fiery, and witty. They sizzle every moment they are together. Secondary characters are generally well-drawn and engaging as well. The plot moves along swiftly, with Hawkins' writing keeping the reader's attention throughout. I was very slightly disappointed in the second and pivotal love scene, expecting it to be somehow "more," but by the end of that section, it no longer mattered. And even though I would have liked a bit more about this terrific couple in the epilogue, the story was utterly satisfying. The flaws are so minor as to hardly be worth mentioning. The romantic leads are engaging, the story entertaining, and the end result delightful. "An Affair to Remember" is one of the best books I've read. I can't wait to pick up another Karen Hawkins' novel.
