Rating: Summary: Why, oh why do I like this book? Review: I do NOT like romance novels, I am NOT a movie fan, and I think Zack, Julie et al. have a few problems too many, and Ms MacNaught a few plot twists and name-droppings too much.In fact, the whole thing reminds me of those reader's digests editions I see around whenever I go to the doctor's office. I can logically see all its faults, I can logically see it's no great literature, BUT I like reading it and rereading it. Perhaps because it is a sweet (yes), warm book that leaves me with a happy feeling. I like reading about Julie (isn't there a bit of Cinderella in all of us), I like her little town, I like her wonderful family, and I like her sense of values. And while I have a hard time forgiving Zack for the little "oh yes you want me" scene (if you've read it, you know what I mean), a girl could forget a lot for that freezing yourself to death stunt he pulled. Their love story is truly lovely. It's a book that you can curl up and be comfortable with. And in the end, that's what counts.
Rating: Summary: Made for Each Other Review: This book grabbed me when I came to the part where Zach was thrown out of his rich grandmother's house with only the cloths on his back. Only a strong person could reach the heights that he did only to be dropped to the bottom again and survive. Julie was made just for Zach. Without her, he would have been lost. Judith McNaught is the perfect matchmaker when she puts two characters together in her stories. Her characters fit like a hand in a glove. I guess that why everything she writes seems so real and her characters are so alive. You couldn't change "Elizabeth" in Almost Heaven with "Meredith" in Paradise. The couples she puts together are inseparable, the way true love should really be.
Rating: Summary: the best book i have ever read Review: i have read some of the other reviews and anyone who thinks that zach was a jerk or to controlling, has totally misunderstood him.he was wrongfully accused.he was innocent.it wasn't fair for him to go to prison or on the run.it has been a few years since i have read this book, but i am getting ready to read it again.this is the only book i would ever read more than once.if you ever read this book, you will find yourself always looking for a book just like this one, cause there is not one as GOOD as this one.this book made me so happy.it made me fall in love again.it is wonderfully descriptive.i smiled and cried the whole time i read it.zach could kidnap me anyday of the year.it made my relationship seem new and exciting to me again.there is no way to desribe it.it is just the best thing to ever hit the racks.i couldn't find the original paperback of it ,that i read.so i went out and bought it again just to keep.most books i will get rid of eventually, this one is a keeper.it is almost like something to be proud of.it gives you such a wonderful feeling when you read it.i just could not even begin to make someone understand how great this book is.you must read for yourself and find out.the only bad thing is,once you read it reading won't be as fun as it use to be,cause you'll never find abook as good as this one.and you will always findyourself wanting more and more if you read this book.I LOVE IT!there is not one negative thing i could say about this book---except that it ended!
Rating: Summary: Really good Review: I really loved this book and although i've read it twice I still haven't figured out the title but it is the best book of hers I have ever read.I especially liked the end. I think he was a conflicting character he was supposed to be really nice but pulling a gun on her was not the nicest thing a person can do. I loved the fact there was all these stars it really made an interesting plot.
Rating: Summary: Perfect is not perfect, but... Review: I still enjoyed the story. Not as wonderful as "Paradise," but still I could not stop reading. I bought "Perfect" because I loved "Paradise" and wanted more Matt & Meredith. Thought "Perfect" was a sequel... not quite, but M&M were in some scenes. Julie & Zack just didn't quite do it for me. I just couldn't get past her falling in love with her kidnapper. But, oh well... it happened and what can I say, except that I suffer from Cinderella Syndrome and love the "...and they lived happily ever after" ending.
Rating: Summary: The Best! Review: Gosh! This the best book I have read from Judith McNaught! The plot is good. I have read the book more than twice now! I bet I will be reading it again, hehehehe. Best of all, it's the sequel to my other favourite, Paradise!
Rating: Summary: The Best! Review: Gosh! I love this book! I have read it more than 3 times! and I would still read it again, really. The plot of the story was fantastic, and it is a sequel to my other favourite book from Judith, Paradise! I have been reading Judith McNaught's books for as long as I remember and I can't close the book once I start reading.
Rating: Summary: Good...but what's with all the celebrity talk? Review: I really enjoyed this book and thought the main characters were "perfect" for eachother. However, all that celebrity namedropping got old real quick. I know Zack was a big movie star, but was it really necessary to invite them all to their wedding and make them out to be nice, jolly individuals? To me it just seemed too fake. I mean, I can appreciate Barbra Streisand as much as the next person, but all the references to her and other famous people got annoying. Otherwise, I thought the book was good and consider it an enjoyable read.
Rating: Summary: PERFECT Review: This has got to be one of the very best books I have ever read. I turly enjoy reading books by Judith McNaught. I had lumps in my throat througout the book. The misunderstandings nearly killed me but in the end all worked out. I especially enjoyed the last chapters. Most couples don't come together until the very end. The bickering ends and the story is over... I really enjoyed that this one had a few chapters of happiness, for them and me.
Rating: Summary: I'd Marry Zach Review: Most "romance" novels feature overly macho male protagonists and idealized notions of relationships. While Judith McNaught is a master storyteller and gives her readers what they want in terms of sexual tension and happy endings, she also manages to convey the pain and emotional complexity of love. Julie, and especially Zach, are fully-formed human beings. Never before have I actually felt drawn to a fictional character, but I was to Zach.
