Rating: Summary: What Language!! Review: This was the fifth book I read by this author. Since she was relatively new to me, and I LOVED the first four, I was dying to get my hands on as many of her books as possible. How I wish I hadn't. I thought the plot was okay, the heroine really got on my nerves, and I just wanted to smack the hero. But the main reason for giving only two stars was the language. I am not easliy offended by harsh and sometimes vulgar words, but this was insane!! I am only 24 and definitely not a prude, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. I had to literally force myself to finish this book. I know, I know---why finish it if it was so bad. Well, I didnt want to waste my money. By the time I got to the end, I felt a little dumb for having subjected myself to the filth. I will be extremely careful about choosing her books in the future.
Rating: Summary: One of her best!! Review: Very few book move me tears, but Simply Love by Catherine Anderson did the job. Luke Taggart is my perfect idea of a hero and even when he has Cassandra Zerek's father and brother thrown in jail for a trumpt up charge he never lost his humanity. Cassandra is almost too innocent to be true, I had a little trouble someone could be that innocent outside of a cloustered nunnery. But her innocence and Luke's jaded appeal make for a wonderful story.
Rating: Summary: An entertaining read. Review: When Luke Taggart, the richest man in town, has innocent Cassandra Zerek's father and brother imprisoned on false charges just so he can have her as his intimate companion, I swore I wouldn't like this book. Though not as engaging as Annie's Song and Keegan's Lady, I found myself feeling sorry for Luke (since I have a soft spot for mistreated children) as I read more. He was so used to lying to get what we needed, after a while he lied to get what he wanted. No boundaries had been set. It was worthwhile, though, to see and feel his regret Cassandra finds out what really happened to her father and brother and why. To show his love for her, he literally works his fingers to the bone. Read it and you'll understand.
