Rating: Summary: Wonderful book. Classic Lowell Review: I enjoyed the book. It was more originally erotic than Lowell's most recent novels. I loved the characters. They were vintage Lowell. I recommend this book, best of the trilogy!
Rating: Summary: Pearl Cove Review: This is my favorite of the trilogy. I couldn't put it down. Archer is by far my favorite Donovan. The romance scenes are very hot. The only problem with this book is that you know it is the last of the trilogy and you wonder what is going to happen to Faith, and you really want to meet Lawe and his twin. Hopefully Elizabeth Lowell will continue the series. Lowell is by far my favorite.
Rating: Summary: another dazzling hit Review: Finally, a story about the edgy, cool, unflappable, sexy Archer we know from Amber Beach and Jade Island. And what a match he has in the fiesty, self-reliant, passionate Hannah. From Australia to Hong Kong and Seattle, the clever dialogue, volatile emotions, and ever-present danger sizzle and the reader cannot help but be drawn to the rambunctious, close-knit Donovan clan. Lowell's captivating characters and understanding of the complexities of the pearl trade combine to produce an alluring tale. Can't wait for the fourth book in the series (Midnight in Ruby Bayou) due out in June!
Rating: Summary: I wish I could review this book Review: I have been looking for Pearl Cove for months now but can't seem to find it. I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and after reading Jade Island I have been waiting for the paperback version of Pearl Cove. I'm keen to read Archer's story. Cm someone tell me when the paperback version of Pearl Cove will be available in Malaysia.
Rating: Summary: One of the best romance series being written right now Review: This was a very satisfying novel. As Lowell's series about the Donovan family continues continues, the characters and plots are becoming more complex. I enjoyed the exotic Australian locale, and the detailed descriptions of clothes and food that round out an entertaining book. The description of the Pearl Exchange in Seattle was so clear I could have found my way through the building. While the female protagonist was a bit of a victim during the first hundred pages, and I could have lived without the "filler" history of pearls near the end of the book, these are minor whines. I just want more happy endings and the next book in the series right now! (An obvious guess - a South American setting.)
Rating: Summary: Pearl Cove/ Elizabeth Lowell Review: This, the third in the series about the Donovan family, is equally interesting and informative re the minerals and gems they handle. The first two, Amber Beach and Jade Island, took the reader into the amber and jade trade...this takes one into the world of Pearl trading. The characters are well defined, and the story is exciting enough to keep you reading to the very end. I look forward to another book about the Donovans...
Rating: Summary: It's alright.... Review: I'm sorry if I offend anyone but I have a totally different opinion on this book from everyone else. "Pearl Cove" is not as great as "Jade Island" (which is my fave in the Donovan series so far!) but it is better than "Amber Beach." It was kinda boring in the beginning but the only thing that made me buy the hardcover was the excitement of finding out about Kyle and Lianne. I am deeply engrossed in the (fictional) lives of Kyle and Lianne Donovan. I was so happy when I found out they're going to have twins and I can't wait til the next Donovan series book get release because I want to know what happened with Kyle and Lianne. You can say I'm biased but my heart goes out to Kyle since the beginning of the Donovan series and I think he'll always be my fave character. I realized that a lot of you females seem to have a weakness for guys who are tall, dark, and handsome (uh hmmmm....) which seems to fit Archer's description. anyways, it wasn't a bad story over all and I loved how all the family gathered together in the story.
Rating: Summary: excellent reading for anytime Review: This book is wonderful. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. The story is intense and will hold the readers' interest throughout the entire book. The characters are interesting and the ending is unexpected. Be sure to read Amber Beach and Jade Island before Pearl Cove it will make you familiar with the characters.
Rating: Summary: The best of the three Review: Pearl Cove is the third in a series, each book dealing with a member of the Donovan family. Pear Cove is without a doubt the best book in the series. The character of Archer Donovan is wonderful. He's a hard man you can't help but love. The great detail into pearls and the precious jems industry only made the story more rich. It's a great book, but read the other two in the series first so you're caught up on all the characters.
Rating: Summary: an education and a romance...what more could one ask for? Review: i especially love the donovan series by elizabeth lowell....you are caught into the plot and you end up learning so much about minerals (jade, amber, and pearls) and society. i actually got a question on jepordy right reguarding chinese triads thanks to reading jade island. thank you ms. lowell...keep them coming!
