Rating: Summary: Seductive and Luscious Review: Vanessa is in a quandry. Her foolish, younger brother has caused the crippling accident of the sister of London's most powerful and seductive rake. Damien Sinclair had every intention of destroying Aubrey Trent, the young fool who nearly killed his sister. He is surprised when Vanessa approaches him to plead for her brother's life and the estate where her mother and sisters reside. She offers to act as a companion to his devastated sister. Damien agrees with one small alteration. Vanessa must become his mistress. Vanessa is no virgin having been recently widowed, but her late husband's attentions were not pleasant and she has no desire to experience carnal relations again. With great reluctance she agrees, not realizing that Damien will plan for her a great seduction that will leave her yearning and begging for more.Damien is a rake in the truest sense, living for lust and bordering perversion. Vanessa is reluctant, innocent, but strong and full of pride. Together they clash, sending off a shower of sparks that the reader cannot help to enjoy. This is my first book by Nicole Jordan. It will not be my last.
Rating: Summary: Love at First Read Review: This was the first book that I ever read by Nicole Jordan and she is going to be at the top of my preferred reading list from now on. She gives you a realistic plot and strong characters. Also, her love sceens are hot and you don't have to wait till the end of the book to read them. At least in this book she spaced them nicely so that you don't wait forever or make it seem as though that is all the book is about. I would recommend this book highly. I just wish her earlier books were not so hard to find or if you do find them the prices for a used book were not so out-of-sight. Keep them coming Nicole.
Rating: Summary: A new Jordan Fan!! Review: This was my first Nicole Jordan experience. It was a nice suprise. I enjoyed the character of Vanessa. I like to read about strong woman. Vanessa had a hard time dealing with the financial mistakes that were made by her husband and her brother. I did think that the character of her brother was very weak. I was glad to see that he learned his lesson at the end of the book. But he really was a big wimp!! Damien Sinclair appeared to be very mean at the beginning, but his character quickly soften towards Vanessa.
Rating: Summary: It was OK Review: For a Regency rommance it was OK. I could not connect with the two main characters. I did not buy the guy really caring about the girl (see I can't even remember thier names). They just didn't seem real. And the ending was so unbelieveable I rolled my eyes and couldn't believe I had actually wasted my time on this book. The redeaming qualites were the spicey love scenes. And that's about it. If you want to read a Regency Rommance that does have some spice and believeable and loveable bad boys turned good read the Cynster books of Stephanie Laurens. Those are some boys who know how to show a woman they love them and really know how to surrender.
Rating: Summary: The Seduction-Vanessa and Damien Review: This is my first Nicole Jordan book and I loved it. I've never known a strong heroine like Vanessa in all the other romances I've read. I felt for her, giving her heart and walking away. Yet, I knew she wasn't all strength. She was so vulnerable and in love. Would I do the same in her shoes? Maybe. But if he told me he loved me, I too would come back. Favorite scene with Vanessa- She begs Damien to call off the duel and he refuses. She leaves. Favorite scene with Damien- He finds Vanessa's brother at the estate and is furious. Favorite scene with Vanessa and Damien together- He proposes and she rejects him.
Rating: Summary: Good, but not the usual 5 stars for Nicole Jordan Review: I have in the past found this author's stories just about perfection, but in this work as well as in The Passion I detect the beginnings of a common trend. That is, she seems to be slightly falling into the habit of many writers who simply "give" an emotion to a character without REALLY giving. Also, even though this book is a lot more explicit than her older works I didn't find it to be as sensual because the scenes seemed more of a straight description of the acts without the characters truly woven into them. This is not a criticism of the higher eroticism, just a comment that this book would have gone through the roof had it more richness. If you compare a scene from say The Outlaw or The Heartbreaker (top examples of why this author is so great) to one in this book you'll know what I mean. As this author is one of my favorites, I worry that she will go the way of many others who once great now churn out cookie-cutter dribble. Please Ms. Jordan, stay on track!
Rating: Summary: Erotic Romance! Review: Don't judge this book by it's cover! This is not the "typical- virgin til the end" book but it also proves that a great romance novel can be written minus that type of character. The author does a great job telling a story involving not only the main characters (Damien & Vanessa) but she also tells Aubrey and Olivia's story. Vanessa is a strong and determined female character-but is she strong enough to handle Lord Sin???? This was my first Nicole Jordan book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and recommend it to all romance readers. It's definitely a keeper.
Rating: Summary: TURN UP THE AIR CONDITIONER!! Review: WOW! And I mean WOW!! If this one does get your pulse rate up, you better see a doctor. A keeper. Great characters. Original plot. Good secondary character story. This one has it all. You will be seduced. I immediately ordered The Passion but it wasn't as good as The Seduction. It was good (4 stars), but this one is. . .WOW! Buy/order it. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Steamy Sex with lots of ROMANCE Review: This is my first book of Nicole Jordan and gladly not the last. I've seen her books here in Amazon and decided to try her out. Luckily, I picked & read THE SEDUCTION first as it is the 1st book of the Notorious Series. I am now in the process of reading the 2nd book of the series, THE PASSION (Nicholas Sabine's story, an acquaintance of Damien Sinclair). The third book is originally named "Enchantment" but was later changed to "DESIRE" to make it sound sexier (I think its fitting too considering the first two titles of this series). DESIRE is the story of Lucian, cousin of Nicholas Sabine in the 2nd book. It is due out this coming November, 2001. I am hoping that the third book will have updates of the couples from the 1st two books. SEDUCTION: Story of Baron Damien Sinclair and Lady Vanessa Wyndham. When Damien's younger sister, Olivia, was injured and her reputation tattered due to a thoughtless young Viscount (who happens to be Vanessa's brother, Aubrey), Damien's swore revenge but since his sister made him promise not to put a bullet through Aubrey's heart, he deliberately challenged Aubrey to a high stake game cards he can't refuse. Aubrey, young and unexperienced to gambling, lost everything he inherited including his Rutherford estate where his ailing mother and 3 younger sister lived. Damien meant to ruin not only the young viscount but his family as well. Upon hearing this, widowed Lady Vanessa Wyndham seeked out Damien pleading for compassion to at least partially forgive Aubrey's debt of honor but Damien had other terms in mind. She will become his mistress for the summer in exchange for the debts. Vanessa had no choice but to agree with his terms otherwise his ailing mother and two younger sister (including his reckless brother) would be destitute. Her only request is to make this arrangement as discreet as possible. She is a Lady, afterall and she have a reputation to maintain. Therefore, they have agreed that she will become Olivia's companion "for show" during the day but his mistress during the nights. Damien was attracted to Vanessa from the start but in all honesty, he didn't care about her reputation. Initially, she was all part of the revenge as well. Sorta like, an eye for an eye... This is the first historical romance book I've read wherein the heroine wasn't a virgin and/or she was married once before... I was afraid I'd be turned off about that flaw but Nicole Jordan really made this story truly seductive. Not disgusting but utterly sweet and delightful. I like the way Vanessa carry herself. She's been through quite a bit of stir herself but her bitter 1st marriage and the scandals she was force to face not only made her stronger but smarter as well. Despite all her past trouble, she carried herself with pride and self esteem. She's sweet and endearing. Damien on the otherhand is a true handsome rake. I mean, really RAKE. I have read lotsa historical romance books where most heroes are described as such but none ever enumerates their rakish activities aside from having a lot of paramours and gambling. In this book, Nicole Jordan mentions activities such as debauchery. He is also a very smooth talker. I know one or two Amazon reviewers find it corny but his dialogue spoken in a soft deadly voice just awes me ( the way N.J describes it, i swear, i can hear Damien's voice :-) ). The words he uses and how he says it just heightens his rakish ways. Thoroughly seductive! I like it. Anyway, Damien's lifestyle will really make you understand why it was hard for him to accept his feelings for Vanessa. You will end up feeling sorry him instead of frustration (well, maybe a little frustration). He was confused because he has never paid much attention to LOVE. He snorts when that word is even mentioned. For him, love does not exist, let alone feeling it... There is so many scenes in this book that i enjoyed. Aside from the H/H romance, Vanessa's friendship to the sweet-tempered Olivia is simply heart warming. Even the thoughtless Aubrey will warm your heart. Oh, i cried when Aubrey apologized and confessed to Olivia. Their love story is an added spice to this book. It's heart quenching! The powerful ending of this book is my favorite of all... What Damien did for absulotion... and when he realized that the person who he hated so much, Aubrey, is practically the mirror of himself. Overall, this book is stimulating, endearing and TOTALLY entertaining. A MUST READ.
Rating: Summary: Seduction Review: The story is great and the sexuality of the 2 characters is electric. Very well written and I guarantee no disappointment. This is the first Nicole Jordon book i have read and I look forward to her other works. Pick this one up.
