Rating: Summary: "against the rules" Review: I've read it today in VO and I like it. Well, it's not my favorite book of Linda Howard, but the story was not unpleasant and I liked the idea of the heroe named Rule duly affected by the Viet Nam war (not so usual in the Linda Howard's héroes). He's stubborn and vindicative but he loves the heroine for years and never tells her his feelings so she's lost and thinks that he wants her only for lust... Good book
Rating: Summary: Reprint of early Howard; not one of her best Review: Ignore the listed publication date-this is a reprint from 1983, not a new story. I love Linda Howard's more recent books, but her early stories are formulaic, have nonsensical plot lines, and unbelievable character behavior. This one is boring and the characters are poorly developed. Spare yourself--read something she's written in the last 5 or 8 years.
Rating: Summary: Great Characters-Another fantastic story from Linda Howard Review: Rule Jackson is a breath taking character!!! Linda Howard writes her characters; strong, tough, masculine, with a touch of sadness, weakness or flaws! When Cat finally admits her love for this tough guy -- sparks fly. Its a quick read, typically steamy & fantastic story from Linda Howard. I urge you to read all her novels--they are great. This one is a keeper.
Rating: Summary: More early excellence from Linda Howard Review: Rule Jackson may be as politically incorrect as they come, but he is a powerful and fascinating hero for this charming romance. Rule is the foreman of the ranch inherited by Cathryn Ashe when she was a teenager. Cathryn fled the ranch years earlier after she and Rule had a passionate encounter. Rule has been obsessed by the memory of their brief romance, and when Cathryn finally returns to the ranch as a young widow, he is determined to have her and won't take no for an answer. Like I said, totally politically incorrect, but Howard raises the emotional intensity to such scorching levels that all romance fans will find this a compelling read.

Rating: Summary: More complex than it may seem Review: This book grows on you. Although Rule is very Alpha he does actually want to change for Cathryn. They affect each other in many possitive ways. This book is more complex than you may think and deserves at least a second more attentive reading. It may surprise you!
Rating: Summary: Excellent romance novel Review: This is one of the most romantic novels that I have read. My favorite part is the climax at the end of the novel. I must say that this is one of Howard's best work. Her writing is splendid. The climax at the end will have you sighing over and over again with how romantic it is. Rule (the male figure) is absolutely incredible. He is not the typical romance male figure that is often seen in most novels. He is controlling, dominate, and virile, yet at the same time, he is weak and desperately in love with Cathryn. I recommend this book to all romance readers. Reading Howard's writing is completely different from just knowing what happens in the story. I must say that this is one of the best romances I have read. The climax is heart-breaking, it leaves your heart all tangled up and aching inside.
Rating: Summary: Against the Rules Review: When I first got this book, I didn't expect it to be that good, because this is an early Linda Howard. Be the truth is, this book does outdo alot of LH's works. I think it hits the top 5 of all LH. The Hero is very romantic, yes, even for a romance. He is very much devoted to the heroine for very long. A great love story in a word.
Rating: Summary: Rules Jackson always get his way Hot Hot Hot Review: You are not really sure what Rule Jackson has up his selve but you can be sure he will get his way.As for Cat she know what she want but not sure how to go about getting it without her true feeling showing. This is a great love story with two people who are afraid of hurting the other and losing what they both want more in life than anything money can buy
