Rating: Summary: I might be overreacting, but... Review: Okay. First of all, I agree that (overall) the book is a good read. But I found myself distracted by the stereotypical portrayal of some of the minor characters, mainly regarding Tristan's best friend (a native american) and the scene where Arian goes to Harlem.Oh, and the name *Arian* *White*wood also struck me as weird. But I'm sure that it's not an undercover racial comment, just a weird coincidence.
Rating: Summary: An enchanting romance novel! Review: This story I found was very beautiful and enchanting! I loved the thought of a puritan girl and a playboy billionaire. When a Salem witch on trial, Arian Whitewood, magically time travels to New York City, 1996 and into the arms of playboy billionaire, Tristan Lennox. The chemistry and love between these two is wonderful. Set out to find that this mysterious "witch" is a con artist Tristan finally discovers that he loves her, along with the truth that she really is a witch. They both learn to believe in magic, and that there is nothing stronger than the power of love. Along with wonderful and vibrant secondary characters such as: Tristan's beloved best friend and blood brother, Michael Copperfield and jack of all trades Sven Nordgard, who can style hair and operate a gun. Truly an enchanting magical romance that is very recommended!
Rating: Summary: One of my Absolute Favorites! Review: I read this book about a month ago, and when I started, I found myself completely unable to put it down! I started reading it one Sunday morning, mainly just for relaxation, and hours later realized I would not be able to go to bed at night if I didn't finish this book. Since then, I've decided to read all of Teresa Medeiros books. I laughed at how adorable Adian was, finding herself in an era that she wasn't born in, and confused with all the new gadgets it had to offer. Then you have Tristant, the cynical, unhappy man who decides to hold a contest to prove if magic really does exist. Through it all, I laughed (really laughed) out loud, got frustrated (mainly at Tristan for his stupidity), and cheered them on as they found a true love that no bounds of time could break. If you haven't read any of her novels yet, this is a book I would highly reccomend!!! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to ordering some more of her novels! =)
Rating: Summary: Twisted Magic Review: Arian is a witch. She's always been a witch. The only problem is...she can't do magic. Sure, she gets lucky now and then, but she's not that good. Her second problem...she lives in Salem, MA. Not a good combination for anyone, much less innocent Arian who believes everyone is good. Arian soon discovers the orgin of her powers. A delicate stone pendant that she's always had, given to her by her unconventional mother. The only other problem is that she uses it around someone who despises witches, so she's sent to the stake. She's hurled into the water with hands and feet bound. It's common knowledge that Satan's power makes witches float. She doesn't float, she sinks, but not before she uses her power, and a desperate spell to save her life. Tristan doesn't believe in witchcraft. He doesn't need it. He is the richest man in the world. So when he announces a competition to prove magic is real with the prize as a million dollars, it attracts the wrong kind of people. Of course it doesn't help that a beautiful angel flies down on a broomstick (which starts fire) right into Tristan's arms. He tries to disprove the obvious, but he cannot disprove it, she is a witch. His last proof was when he insulted her family, her being, and her very lifestyle. Angered, Arian hurls a lightening ball at his head. Luckily she didn't kill him. She only succeeded in making him fall madly in love with her. Through a very twisted, ongoing plot, Arian's source of her power proves Tristan's darkest veiws. He loves her, and then cann't stand her. She loves him...she always loves him. When Arian's life is at stake, Tristan finally realizes his mistakes at thinking of everything on the surface, and jumping to wrong conclusions...dead wrong. The only thing that makes this book bad is the fickle sense of the main male character who inspires you to hate him in one minute and love him the next. Overall, a good pick.
Rating: Summary: A breath of brilliance Review: This book was so much fun, truly a classic of the paranormal romance genre. I laughed and I cried with Tristan and his bumbling witch. I haven't had this much fun since they cancelled BEWITCHED! Can't wait to read the sequel TOUCH OF ENCHANTMENT.
Rating: Summary: More like a breath of boredom Review: I actually read the second book of this story, "Touch of Enchantment", first and I'm very glad I did. Otherwise, just going by this book I might not have picked up any of her other books. "Touch" was the first time I had read any of her books and she has definitely earned herself a new fan. The problem with "Breath of Magic" seems to be really getting the engine going. She sets everything up, all the elements are there, but "something" just doesn't connect. But don't be discouraged, there are some cute moments and you should read this if nothing else just to set the history for "Touch". But I do enjoy her writing and so will be scouring the shelves for more of her work.
Rating: Summary: Wow. Review: This story awed me. It was the first I'd read by Ms. Medeiros, and I absolutely loved it! The heroine- who can't tell wether she really is a witch or not- is magically dropped (literally) into the now where she commences a strange relationship with a biotech mogul. There's a TON of neat jokes, a kitten, and some totally unexpected plot twists.... that I won't tell. ENJOY! (I certainly did!)
Rating: Summary: Great books! Review: I love all the books from Teresa Medieros which I have read! For Jackie Coffman from Solihull, West Midlands United Kingdom: If you read this one and liked it, you should read the Touch Of Enchantment. It continues the story, and it is about their daughter.
Rating: Summary: Breathtaking, absolutely magical Review: This is the 1st. TM book I have read & I loved this story. It made me laugh and cry. I will definately be looking out for the rest of her books if they are anything like this one they will be brilliant. Thank you Teresa for writing such a breathtaking story.
Rating: Summary: Enchanting! Review: This is about a gentle witch that is still new to her powers and she gets thrown into the 90's, where she lands at the feet of Tristan, a millionaire. And it just so happens Tristan is searching for someone to show him that real magic does exist. This book has its funny parts, sad parts, heart warming and heart wrenching parts. It makes you angry and it makes you happy. It is full of emotion. At first, I thought Tristan was a real jerk. He was mean to her and impatient and somewhat cold hearted. And Arian was sweet and naive and had the biggest heart possible. But as the book went on, I strived to understand his point of view (though I still think he was too cruel at times.) The characters are rich and full of life, and I absolutely adored Trenton's body guard and his best friend. They added a little something to the book and made it more enjoyable. I highly recommend this book to anyone that has a belief in magic, whether in a physical sense, or just from the heart.
