Summary: GREAT BOOK! TEACHES A LESSON TO EVERYONE
Review: This is a great book to read. I have never read anything printed by Beverly Jenkins, but now that I have, I recommend her to everyone. I could not put the book down, it was a lesson in history as well as a great romance story. Ms. Jenkins did an excellent job in creating the characters of Chase of Cara Lee. I went to the library to get all the books by this author. I will be adding her to my list of favorite authors.

Summary: The Soldier and the Schoolmarm Sizzle
Review: This is the first of Beverly Jenkins' historical African-American novels set in the late 1800s. The story of Buffalo soldier Chase Jefferson and small town school teacher Cara Lee Henson has something for everyone. "Night Song" is the last of Jenkins' works I read. As a result I was able to track her development as a romance novelist through her four published books. She gets better and better. There are aspects of a Jenkins book I've come to expect: strong historical narrative, strong interpersonal relationships between characters, a visual narrative (you can actually SEE the novel unfold), a bibliography for more information, funny dialogue and an unconventional wedding scene. If you think romance novels are predictable and monolithic, Beverly Jenkins' work will be a satisfying shock to your system.

Summary: UNFORGETABLE...both romantically and historically!
Review: This was one of the most exciting love stories I have read...and I've read scores. I think the reason this story is so powerful is that it is totally believable.

Summary: Wonderfully written !!!
Review: WARNING: If you've read ONE of Beverly Jenkins books you will enjoy the rest. You will search high and low for any other books she has written...you will rob peter and paul to buy the books and keep them in your collections...they are all that good and a bag of chips. Never before can you read such a wonderful story and receive (learn) a history lesson on the black race during the civil war period, where the women are women and the men are trully men(ly) in these books. BUY IT!

Summary: Jenkins' Best Yet, By Far!!
Review: Yes, yes, yes I loved it beyond all historical romance novelsthat I have read, so far! Jenkins put her foot in this one. I lovedit! Cara Lee was a woman every independent woman after her would beproud of! Cara Lee stuck to her guns about every aspect of her life, until Handsome sergeant of the Tenth Cavalry, Chase Jefferson happenedinto her life. The handsome, arrogant, determined, and sexy sergeantbroke down all Cara Lee's defenses in just ten short days. Chase andCara Lee both try their damnest to fight their growing love for eachother,.... I loved everything about this book, the story itself, thehistory involved, the love between Cara Lee and Chase, and every othercharacter in this book! Very, very, very enjoyable and definitelyunforgettable historical romance novel by Jenkins. Summary: OH MY GOD!
Review: You can believe when I say because this book took me to the heights in love and history. I kept putting my name in place of Cara because I knew that Chase would definitely find me more interesting. Beverly Jenkins is the greatest writer there has to be when it comes to African Americans and love. Night Song was a Triumph!
