Summary: Stunning love story
Review: "Night Song" is a beautiful love story about strong-willed, independent, school teacher, Cara Henson, and the handsome Buffalo Soldier, Chase Jefferson. To Chase, Cara is his "schoolmarm" and his "darlin'". To Cara, as well as to most other women, Chase is breathtaking. However, with Cara, Chase is the only man for her. Even after a couple years since their first meeting, when they meet again, their first meeting is not forgotten.Destined to be together, yet, both are too stubborn to realize it. Chase, an army man, feels he is not the marrying kind nor one to settle down. Cara, too independent, does not express her feelings for Chase because she thinks he does not care. "Night Song" is Cara's and Chase's story, but Ms. Jenkins also gives the reader an insight into the history when African American men who served in the army were known as "Buffalo Soldiers." "Night Song" is exciting and adventurous. Cara is romanced in the classroom when Chase comes to visit and plays his flute for her. Cara is also kidnapped by the devious Miles Sutton and Chase goes to her rescue. In "Night Song" we also meet Cara's and Chase's friends, Sophie and Asa, Sheriff Polk, Dulcie, Dr. Delbert, the Three Spinsters, and Dreamer. A wonderful story!

Chase Jefferson. I loved this story because it has everything from a history lesson to romantic rendevous. This is the novel that you stay up all night to finish and when you read the last page, you are wishing for more more more. When Jefferson carries Cara into the hotel, against everyones opinion, I knew he was my hero. This is real solid love that every woman wants out of her prince charming. Beverly has taken us back to a time when men were men and thats how we liked them. This is a calgon moment for sure. If you like some mystery and suspense, this has that also. EXCELLENT!!!!

Review: BEVERLY JENKINS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS SHE'S THE REASON I STARTED READING I PICK UP THROUGH THE STORM AND WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT DOWN. AFTER THAT I HAD TO HAVE EVERY BOOK I NOW HAVE EVERY BOOK SHE HAVE WRITTEN EVEN BROUGHT SOME TWICE. NIGHT SONG IS A VERY GOOD BOOK. YOU HAVE TO READ IT. Review: BEVERLY JENKINS IS THE GREATEST. I HAVE ACQUIRED A LOT OF HISTORY & KNOWLEDGE, IN ADDITION I WAS ABLE TO ACQUIRE ADDITIONAL RESEARCH DUE TO THE BOOKS I READ BY HER. THE ROMANCE IS DONE IN A FASHION THAT EVERY WOMAN (BLACK ESPECIALLY) WOULD LOVE TO BE TREATED & SOME IS TREATED. MS. JENKINS HAS THE TALENT TO WRITE A BOOK THAT MAKES A WOMAN APPRECIATE WHO/WHERE/WHEN SHE CAME. WITH MY HUSBAND HAVING PRIOR MILITARY EXPERIENCE, I HAVE THROUGHLY ENJOYED THE BUFFALO SOLDIER SERIES. I AM WAITING FOR 8/98 RELEASE. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET OTHER FRIEND & FAMILY INTO READING HER BOOKS. WITH THIS ADDITIONAL CONVERSATIONAL PIECE & WE'VE TALKED ABOUT THE HISTORY AS WELL AS THE ROMANCE IN THE BOOK. Summary: Chase Jefferson Where Are You!
Review: Chase Jefferson was not the marrying kind. He decides to pursue a lovely school teacher Cara Lee Henson. Chase was part of the Tenth soldiers. Cara Lee didn't have a clue what it was like to be kiseed, really kissed by a man. Chase showed her how senuous she could be. Some of the towns people were jealous of Cara Lee. They were trying to figure out why Chase liked her. This book had a lot of drama. Chase was very protective of Cara Lee. He was a little stubborn too. He would always tell her that he was not the marrying kind. But continued to show her affection, like she was a rare jewel. I have just recently read three of Beverly Jenkins books, Indigo, Through the Storm and Night Song. I really can't say which is my favorites. They are all so wonderful.

Summary: W O W! A Man In A Uniform.
Review: Even in the days of the Buffalo Soilder, a man in uniform could melt the heart of a woman. Melt the heart of Cara Lee Henson is just what Sgt. Chase Jefferson did; also allowing his own heart to melt. Both promising not to fall in love with the other for there own reasons. They soon became fast friends, and were falling in love with each other just as fast . Neither willing to admitt it to the other. Then the trouble starts, Cara is pregnant,doesn't tell Chase,looses her job as a teacher because she has no husband. Miles who can't understand why she want date him try to kidnap her and she looses the baby. In come the Buffalo Solider to the rescue, finds her sick, marries her and vows to take care of her the rest of her life. Even after being married it takes them almot a year to say I LOVE YOU to each other. This time Miles does kidnap Cara, and Chase goes through hell to get her back. A wonderful Historical romance. This was the first book I read by Beverly Jenkins it had me laughing, crying, and want to know what was going to happend next. I am going to purchase herother books and read them.
