Summary: What an adventure. One of my top five JG books.
Review: I know that this is not appreciated by everybody, but it sure was by me. This story of Taylor and Lucas held my attention from the beginning. Taylor is adorable and brave and Lucas is a wonderful buffer for her, aman with few words. One of my favorite scenes was any scene with Taylor and a gun. Differently a must read.

Summary: okay book but no zing
Review: I liked this book but it didn't have that special something that most of Julie Garwoods books have

Summary: My Favorite Garwood
Review: I love Julie Garwood's style and spirit in all her writings, but Prince Charming is by far my favorite. It is a slightly different style than her other books, which I think throws off some of her other readers, but in my opinion is refreshing. Unlike most romance novels, Prince Charming carries the story farther past the origional conflict. The initial "throw ourselves at each other and onto the bed" that usually concludes a romance novel is more to the side rather than the main focus. Instead there is an emphasis on the character's struggles to understand one another. Prince Charming is a beautifully told story, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Summary: Charming audio, but probably better in text
Review: I recently heard the audio book for this title. The story was pleasant enough, even Charming, if you will. You can see the publishing information on the story itself.

My biggest complaint about the audio book was that the voice actress didn't make the characters seem very appealing. She was a good actress to be sure, but Taylor came off as a quivering ninny, and Lucas, though admitedly a mountain man character, came off sounding like a stupid hick. I applaud the actress's deft handling of the accents, but it made the characters seem very annoying.

Not a bad piece, but it could have been better.

Summary: A tale of strangers falling into the hands of fait. . .
Review: I thought that this book was one of her BEST!!! It goes from the glitter and glamour of England to the uncivilized wild frontier of Redemption. Lucas and Lady Taylor, never having met before, agree to marry for their own motives. Knowing that once they set foot on American soil they will never have to see each other again. However, they run into the inevitable. In a quirky yet compelling story of loyalty, courage, and true love shows how strangers can grow together to find the ultimate happiness

Summary: Not up to her other books
Review: I would not tell anyone to read this book unless, you have to read every thing by an author, and even then your'e going to hate this one.I normaly read her books more then once, thats how good they are. But,this one I had trouble getting through the first time.

Summary: It's better than no Julie Garwood book at all!
Review: I've read all of Miss Garwood's books, and this was not one of her best, although the worst had to be "The Gift" and running a close second for worst was the forgettable Claybourne series(I still haven't figured out how this series merited being a series, since it was so bad). But, since I am a fan, I honestly believe that any Julie Garwood book is better than no Julie Garwood book at all. I missed her great humor in this book and frankly the characters never seemed to connect. The plot was really non existent. It seems to skip around aimlessly looking for a story. I usually love her heroines and her strong, silent huge(there is something about a big man) heroes. I didn't fall in love with this heroe, as I normally do, and I couldn't really get a feel for the character of the heroine. Julie, in the future, please go back to your highland heroes and heroines. They are the best.I also love your Victorian and Feudal England settings as long you maintain the humor, the classiness of the females and the appeal of the men.

Summary: Great Book, Bad Audio
Review: I've read this book before, many times in fact, and I absolutlly adore it. I love all of Julie Garwood's books, and this is one of my favorites. She is my favorite writter, and all her books are fantastic. So I thought it would be nice to listen to the tape while I worked out or wanted to listen to something without having the TV on. One word sums the audio up, awful. The person who read the book did a nice job of the voices and all, but I was extremlly dissapointed at how many details the editors took out. If you think that you want to listen to this tape, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT. The book is a million times better. If you absolutly have to listen to the book on tape, I suggest you try to find an unabriged copy.

If you liked the book, I would recomend all of Ms. Garwoods books, Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught, and anything by Amanda Quick.

Let me stress again that the book is ten million times better then the audio.

Happy Readings :)

Summary: Strong Beginning Fizzles Fast
Review: JG is one of the best. I simply don't know what happened to her creativity on this one. The beginning was very interesting, and Lucas and Taylor seemed perfectly matched. But somewhere along the line the story turned boring, perhaps because it was SO predictible.

I realize most of JG's books will never compare to the wonderful novels SAVING GRACE and RANSOM - but I do like it when she comes close. This one didn't.
