Rating: Summary: Beautiful love story will break your heart Review: Never mind the erotica. Never mind the frank discussions of sex and anatomy. Put all that aside and what you have is a poignant, beautiful love story about two lonely people who find each other. Elizabeth has been stuck in a loveless, passionless marriage for 16 years. Half Arab and Half English, Ramiel, Lord Safyre, the Bastard Sheik, has been running from his past. When Elizabeth asks Ramiel to tutor her in the art of seduction so that she can woo her husband from his mistress, not only do sparks fly, but their mutual healing begins as well. Much of this book is sad enough to make you want to cry. The frank eroticism is absolutely justified as Ramiel teaches Elizabeth that she is beautiful and desirable and that there is nothing sinful about a woman's passion. If there's a prudish bone in your body, you won't be comfortable with this story. If a stronger erotic element doesn't offend you, you will love this book.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely fantastic! Review: This is an absolutely superb work of fiction. I quite literally couldn't put it down and devoured it in one sitting. It is a tremendously well-written book with extraordinary characterization, plotting, and pacing. The emotions ring absolutely true and I was utterly caught up in Elizabeth's struggles and her increasing attraction to Ramiel. And Ramiel is a Hero with a capitol "H." He is absolutely wonderful and comes through for her when she needs him most in every possible way. And the contrast in Elizabeth between the very first scene and the very last is quite simply astounding. I have never seen a better example of a story coming full circle and demonstrating the journey that the characters have taken. It is just elegant. And yes, the sex in amazing. It's very explicit but it is never sensational or there simply for titillation. It is gripping emotionally as much as it is arousing and absolutely forwards the plot and characterization. I have, quite honestly, never read anything like it - except for in AWAKEN, MY LOVE (also by Robin). And boy, I can't wait for MORE!
Rating: Summary: A must read! Review: Sizzling from start to finish. Bravo, Ms. Schone! Like Awaken, My Love . . . this is another keeper!
Rating: Summary: pleasantly surprised!!! Review: This is the first "romance" novel I have ever purchased, the first book ordered through amazon. When I saw the cover I thought, "Oh, no, what did I order?" But then I started reading. I finished the book five hours later. Only one word can sum up my feelings: WOW. Bravo, Robin Schone! Thank you for this sexy, amazing love story. And my husband thanks you too, even though he hasn't read it.
Rating: Summary: HMM... Review: Some things about this book I didn't like, but it was a different sort of plot than I'm used to reading so I enjoyed it. It was also a little sad, the heroine's life. Very erotic! VERY!
Rating: Summary: Rarely does a story like this ever stand above its own genre Review: from the first page to the last, everything is so hot-hot-hot! but beyond the sizzling scenes (yes, they really sizzle...), one can find such a tender emotion coming from Ramiel. it was simply beautiful, no other word for it, to witness how he changed from simply being an instructor to the pleasures of the flesh to becoming the hero of Elizabeth.
Elizabeth is such a compelling woman. Full of complexities and undeniable yet gut-wrenching innocence, she is magnificent in her struggle to finally decide not to become a victim and be free to let herself see how beautiful and desirable she is. the way she epxresses her secret longings was so stirring.
The Lady's Tutor certainly broke my stereotypes on "hotstuff" like this. before, i firmly believed that if a story is just full of sex, no matter how hot, it would not be capable of showing a deeper emotion than the physical. but with this story, i was proven wrong. i salute ms. schone for her superb mastery of placing all-consuming passion alongside such redeeming love that broke all the rules and consequently created a woman who realized her true worth, and a man who finally found the courage to slay his own demons.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Incredible! Sexy! Touching! Review: I have been wanting to try one of Robin Schone's novels for awhile. I finally found "The Lady's Tutor" at my local bookstore. This book will be returned tomorrow. I must admit I did not read the story, or I should say "CANNOT" read the story. How a main character can be called "the Bastard Sheik" instead of his name throughout the book is appalling. Why not call the heroine "the English whore." That one term was such a turn off that I could not read this book. Very disappointing.
Rating: Summary: The best of the best Review: This is my favorite book of all times. Robin Schone is one of my favorite authors. I love the way she describes the characters, the scenes, it is very detailed and explicit, but with taste. Her descriptions are never gross or disgusting, it really makes you fall in love with the characters and once you start reading you wont stop. I also read The lover and enjoyed it as much as this one. I just started Gabriels Woman, its a little bit different from what I expected at the beginning but its getting really exciting cant wait to see what happens at the end, its really keeping me at an edge.
