Summary: So exciting, I loved it!!!
Review: This was my first Kurland book and now I must go get her other ones. I laughed and cried right along with Rhys and Gwen. I found myself screaming inside "NO!". What Rhys and Gwen go through for eachother was, simply put, heartwrenching. I felt I wanted to strangle his grandsire for not telling him about his land and title. What he went through to claim his ladylove...UGH!!!

I highly recommend this book. It is very clean as far as the love scenes go. The story was well written...it didn't need the sensuality. Praise!!!! to Ms. Kurland. You've have a new #1 fan.

Summary: I have to agree...
Review: Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other reviewers who gave this a one or two star rating. This was definately not one of Lynn Kurland's best. I loved her other books, especially "Stardust of Yesterday", "A Dance Through Time" and "The Very Thought of You". Until this book, I had not been disappointed by anything from Lynn Kurland. It is filled with misery rather than the love and humor her other books contained. It was very difficult to get through. I kept hoping it would get better, but was sadly mistaken.

Take mine and others advice, don't bother with this particular book, but rather read her previous books - they are very good. I will chalk this one up to a one time mistake, and eagerly look forward to her next books.

Summary: Fabulous Read
Review: Young Gwennelyn of Segrave picked her champion, landless knight Rhys de Piaget when she was but a child of 10 and he only 14 when he rescued her from a pigsty. Unfortunately, Gwen's father had already betrothed her to Alain of Ayre, a spoiled, mean, and lackwitted son of a neighbor. Stubborn to a fault, once she knows that Rhys returns her love Gwen will let nothing daunt her once her mind is made up and is determined that Rhys will be hers. Rhys goes away to earn money in tournaments as a mercenary in order to bribe or buy Gwen out of her betrothal to Alain. Returning finally to claim Gwen, matters do not progress as planned when Alain forces Gwen into marriage and Rhys must not only stand by and watch but endure two years as the captain of Gwen's guard. The pain and heartbreak of these two will make you cry.

In spite of the obstacles they must endure, Rhys and Gwen's love and commitment holds firm. The incredible struggles and betrayals they must overcome in order to be together would be almost too sad to endure if not for the comic relief of Gwen and the numerous secondary characters that are incorporated into this full bodied, robust and fast paced medieval. You will find yourself delightfully amused with the antics of the 'Viking' Fitzgerald twins who taught `young' Rhys everything he knows...and find yourself panting in anticipation for the sequels to this wonderfully written book. This is well worth your read and sure to end up on your keeper shelf.
