Rating: Summary: Loved it! Bring on the new ones! Review: Ok, once again I will review one of Ms. Kurland's books and STILL I am not disappointed. I have read them all and wait for more. The only thing that bothered me a little, was the part where Gwen waited for years for Rhys to come back and rescue her...although it's not like she had anything better to do. As far as the part where she "procreated" with her husband while the man she loves and who loves her is outside the door...it's not like they had much of a choice! Things like that had to have actually happened back then. Women didn't have the choices that they do today and it was difficult lives they led. I enjoyed the book and have no doubts that if you know what to expect from this type of book, you will like it too. I implore future readers to check the synopsis before buying any book. It will save alot of time and money.
Rating: Summary: SHE HAS DONE BETTER. Review: THE CHARACTERS WERE FLAT THAT EVEN THE HUMOROUS STUFF WAS LOST. IT STARTED OUT GREAT AND THEN AFTER THE MAIN CHARACTERS BECAME LOVERS HE HAD TO SIT OUTSIDE HER DOOR WHILE SHE HAD A WEDDING NIGHT WITH SOMEONE ELSE I WAS FINISHED. I HATED IT AND EVEN THOUGH THE ENDING WAS HALF WAY DECENT I ALREADY HAD LOST INTEREST AND DIDN'T CARE. I HAVE READ ALL HER OTHER BOOKS AND LOVED THEM THIS WAS A REAL DISAPPOINTMENT.
Rating: Summary: Good humorous characters Review: This book contains Lynn Kurland's excellent humor. I love the dialogue she writes and the funny characters she creates (in the twins here), but this book also had a very sad plot line. Much bad befalls the two main characters -- more than someone would like to see in a romance novel. I was depressed through the first 2/3 of the book for the unthinkable things that happened. It picks up after that, though. I have read most of Kurland's books and this is my least favorite. Still, I highly recommend her other books such as Stardust of Yesterday and Dance Through Time.
Rating: Summary: Another wonderful book by Lynn Review: This book really tugs at the heart strings. Every time you think Rhys and Gwen are going to get together something happens to pull them apart. It makes you wonder if they are fated ever to be happy together as they deserve. Gwen has to marry someone else and you think all is lost for them, until fate takes a hand in their future together. This is one of the sadest stories I have read of Lynn's, but saying that it is a wonderful story. Don't despair all will turn out alright in the end. I agree with some of the other reviewers that Rhys's parents should have a book of their own. Their small part in this book was wonderful. Please consider this Lynn. Well done.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful Romance Review: This book reminds me of the way romances used to be written and why I liked reading them. The story is not lost in all the graphic sexuality so common in romances today. You know the people were intimate without having to wade through all the detail that many of today's authors seem to think everyone wants to read about.
Rating: Summary: kurland still going strong Review: This is a great story. I have always loved anything Lynn Kurland has published and shes never let me down in any of her books. In this book you really feel what's going on because its got that little bit of reality, like i've been there kind of thing. great work!!
Rating: Summary: I am not sure I will finish it. Review: This is my first Lynn Kurland book and I am definitely not enthralled with the characters. I would have a hard time calling this a romance. I can see how she is twisting the formula, but it doesn't really work for me.
Rating: Summary: I loved it!! Review: This is the first book I've read by Ms. Kurland and I loved it. I thought it noble that Rhys would wait for Gwyen and do anything to make her his own. Thru all there troubles, they stood by each other and gave their love for each other freely. I was only dissapointed that Rhys never knew that Nicholas was his son. Overall, it was a wonderfull book.
Rating: Summary: Not a formula book...but that's not a good thing here... Review: This is the first Kurland book I've read. Reviews on her other books might convince me to try another, but it will be a hard sell. The one thing Kurland manages to do with this book is break the conventions of the romance genre...a sexually experienced hero, a virgin heroine...an emotionally stoic hero, a passionate heroine...none of those are present here. The problem? When Kurland breaks out of the genre, what she offers us is no more satisfying than formula romance. Who really wants a romance novel with two virgins fumbling around? Who wants a hero who spends half of the novel with tears on his cheeks and his head hung between his knees? and lastly, what woman romance reader wants a heroine whi never grows throughout the novel? Gwen is in a perpetual stage of "not getting it." This is who we're supposed to empathize with? No thanks. Yes, characters need to have weaknesses. But they need not be ALL weakness. How can they then learn anything from one another? I applaud Kurland for her attempt at stretching the romance envelope...but, why does she think all the 'formula' novels sell so well? Hmmmm?
