Summary: Does anyone else think this would make a great movie
Review: I went into this book thinking it would be an interesting murder plot mystery but it was SO much more. I've been reading the reviews and I was confused about some of them. This book has a very interesting addition to commonplace type of murder novels. It has a personal history added to it and I thought the attraction to Reede and Alex was beautiful. I've read that people are saying that it is a bit disconcerting to hear about the age difference (which I don't think was a problem) and about him previously being involved with her mother (which none of the three suspects were never intimately involved with Alex's mother - Celina).

Reading this, I thought it would make a great movie with the three suspects and all the outside parties in someway involved also. I would love to see this as a movie and for anyone who has some time the book is great. It's different than what most people I am sure are used to, but the final outcome will be all the more better!

Summary: Appallingly bad !
Review: I'm normally a Sandra Brown fan but this is just TOO bad.How a supposedly intelligent young woman could ever find an oafish boor like Reede attractive is beyond me. Alex's mother had died a scandalous death in this small West Texas town 25 years previously and now she's back in her role of A.D.A. to reopen the case and discover her mothers murderer. The premise of the story is ok. but when the hero is portrayed as a man 18 years her senior who grabs her hand and places it on his crotch shortly after meeting her, the feeling of the book turns not to romance but to just plain lust and general nastiness.Could any woman find this behaviour appealing?

Summary: Mediocre
Review: I'm wondering if this is one of Brown's earlier works. It doesn't seem to have the energy of some of her other works. I usually love plots where a heroine from a small southern town returns after a considerable absence; however, this was disappointing. I just couldn't seem to get fully into the romance part knowing that the hero had once been in love with the heroine's mother (even though he never had sex with her). Also, I found it ridiculous that Alex (the heroine) would get permission to open an investigation with no more proof than a psychologist's report saying the alleged killer wasn't really violent. Even when she gets to town, she doesn't find very much more proof, which make her tenacity even more ridiculous.

Finally, I really didn't find the hero that sexy. In one scene (the horse scene --- I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't read it), he was so insufferably cruel to the heroine, that if I were her I wouldn't speak to him ever again. Additionally, usually the heroes in romance novels are described in such a way so that readers know that their lovemaking skills are superb. Oddly enough, that's not the case with this hero. He's not nearly as sexy as some of Brown's other creations.

All in all, not one of Brown's best efforts.

Summary: My Favorite Book
Review: Not just my favorite Sandra Brown book, but my favorite book period. It has a believable romance, an unsolved mystery that keeps you guessing til the end, and completely realistic small town characters. An excellent romantic suspense novel.

Summary: Captivating to the very last page
Review: Sandra Brown has a unique talent for capturing the southwest spirit in her books. Reede and Alexandra passionately fight and love throughout the book. Its a spellbinding romance novel and mystery who-done-it combined. I read it 3 times.

Summary: Mystery & Romance
Review: Sandra Brown keeps you in suspense & sex. From vengeful thoughts over her mother's murder to lustful longings over one of the possible murderers and all the characters in between, this is a good summer read. You might also enjoy *Exclusive* by Brown & *Tall, Dark & Deadly* by Heather Graham.

Summary: Another Sandra Brown Keeper
Review: Suspense and that "who-dun-it" thing made this book even better than I expected. The sensual tension in this book was very good. I was looking thru some Contemporary picks when this title came up and I figured I'd put my two cents in since I have read this book and really enjoyed it. I think you'll like it too.

Summary: HOT, HOT, HOT!
Review: This book has it all. Sexual tension, suspense and drama. Sandra Brown outdid herself on this one. I thought "Mirror Image" was my favorite, not anymore! Best Kept Secret is a must read for anyone who likes HOT romance!
