Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I haven't disliked a Sandra Brown book yet--until this one. Sure, the writing is excellent, as usual. The plot wasn't bad, but the characters were awful. The hero, a small-town sheriff, was about as unattractive as is possible. His past sexual exploits are disgusting, and he actually uses prostitutes at the whorehouse he allows to run in his town. He's old enough to be the heroine's father, and to top it off, he once had a relationship with the heroine's mother. In fact, he almost became the heroine's stepfather. NOW he wants to sleep with the woman who could have been his stepdaughter. Frankly, it was creepy. Now, if you can overlook the points mentioned above and concentrate on the mystery, it is a good book. Though I had the guilty party pegged from the beginning, I did get thrown for a minute at the end. Sandra Brown's writing can't be faulted, and normally I love her books. Just not this one. If you are looking for a mystery, this one is fine. If you want a romance, choose another one of her books.
Rating: Summary: Another page turner by Sandra Brown Review: I love all of Sandra Brown's books and this one goes near the top of my list of all time favorites! I honestly could not put this book down...I read the entire book in 1 day. As soon as you thought you had the plot figured out you were given yet another twist. Excellent story and writing by Sandra Brown yet again. I highly recommend this book to all of Sandra's fans!
Rating: Summary: IT'S A COMBINATION BETWEEN LOVE AND MYSTERY Review: I LOVE ALL SANDRA STORIES AND THIS IS ONE OF HER BEST BESIDES THE OTHERS OF COURSE
Rating: Summary: Sandra Brown does it again Review: I love every book that Sandra Brown has written, but this is one of my favorites. This book is a wonderful book about a woman whos life was distroyed by a man and her quest to seek the ultimate revenge on him. This story combinds romance along with suspence. If you enjoy this book, you will also enjoy Mirror Image.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I read this book on the plane to Hawaii, and the five hours it took to get there seemed very short. The characters were memorable and it kept my attention throughout the entire book. I'd read it again.
Rating: Summary: Not her best Review: I thought Best Kept Secrets was all right. It was definately not a page turner like most other Sandra Brown books. I would recommend this one for a rainy afternoon when you have absolutely nothing else to do. Normally once I begin one of her novels, it's hard for me to put them down, but this one was not that way. I did manage to finish it, but it was definatly not the best I've ever read.
Rating: Summary: Not the best, but not the worst Review: I thought Best Kept Secrets was an all right novel. It definately wasn't one of Sandra Brown's best, but it's not the worst thing in the world to read either. I would recommend this one for a rainy afternoon when you have nothing else to do. Normally, once I begin on of Ms. Brown's novels, it's hard for me to put it down, but this one was fairly easy to quit reading and do other things. It just seemed to drag on and on about the same thing over and over.
Rating: Summary: Don't miss out on this one! Review: I thought FRENCH SILK was good, and found this book to be the best. No flaws or mistakes at all. The whole book, even the corny names of the people in this book, was believeable and realistic. You can't miss out on this Sandra Brown bestseller.
Rating: Summary: Great read Review: I thought this book was great. The plot was great with lots of twists and turns. I thought it was a little creepy that Reede was instramental in making sure Alex was born though. Besides that, it was great and worth the time to read.
Rating: Summary: Monotonous and Boring Review: I was surprised to see that everybody that read this book liked it so much. This entire book could have been written on 200 pages instead of the 425 it was written on. Page after page was all about Junior loved Celina and Celina loved Reede and on and on and on...I thought Alex was a little too full of herself and I can't see how Reede liked her the way he did when she kept accusing him of murdering her mother, but she trusted him enough to put herself alone with him time and time again. It wasn't realistic and I thought he was just a bit too old for her. I did finish the book, but got to where I would skip over all the conversations about Junior loving Celina and Celina loving Reede. It was just the same thing over and over again. And I knew who the killer was from the beginning. I think a good Sandra Brown book is either Mirror Image, The Alibi or Breath of Scandal, all of which were very good.
