Rating: Summary: One of the best Romances I have ever read. Review: I recomend this book to anyone that likes a good romance and mystery. It has alot of action and kept me reading. I'll certainly read this one again.
Rating: Summary: You knew the ending and everything else by page 200. Review: The book started out okay, but it didn't get better, it got worse. I knew from the moment Lord Saxton appeared that he was Christopher, and it just made the rest unbearable to try to read. This is the first book I've read by Woodiwiss and hope that all her others are not so predictable
Rating: Summary: A fabulous book! This is one I'd read again. Review: I loved this book! At first I didn't know that Lord Saxton was Christopher Seton. At that point, I thought to myself, "Who's she going to end up with?" Well, fortunately, I finally caught on. ^_^ The characters were very well developed and I liked the idea of, as I read somewhere, a 'Beauty and the Beast' romance. I would recomend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: "A Rose in Winter" is the best romance I have read so far. Review: I was around 19 when my father bought this book for me, I am 35 now. I fell in love with the characters immediately. The story swept me away and I could actually see the characters come to life before my eyes. Since then I have bought every book that Woodiwiss has written, but I find myself pulling this book down off of the shelf and reading it at least once every year. I am hooked. Has she ever thought of writing a sequel? I very satisfied customer.
Rating: Summary: Certainly one of the best romance novels I have ever read. Review: Kathryn Woodiwiss out-did herself when she wrote this book. I have read all her other novels and not one comes close to this one in prose, action and charaterization. Her other novels are paint-by-numbers in comparison. The exploits of Erienne, Christopher Seton and Lord Saxton are immensely entertaining. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A Beautiful Book Review: No other romance novel has ever haunted me like this book has. I measure all other novels to this one. Christopher has to be the most perfect hero while Erienne is not as deep, the two of them together makes this novel one of the all time best on my list.
Rating: Summary: I read this every year! Review: There are a few books that never seem old, even if you read them time and time again. This is one of those books. Romance novels all follow the same track, but while most are alike, some are outstanding, like this one. Some of the bad things happening to the bad guys in this story can make you laugh out loud, and chuckle long after you set the book down. I read all her other books in hopes of finding another like this, and while this author is good, none of her books that I read before or after this one can equal it.
Rating: Summary: I can't believe how much I enjoyed this book! Review: I've never thought of myself as a "Harliquin Romance"-type reader, but by chance picked this book up and couldn't put it down. It has it all for the incurable romantic, whatever age or sex he or she might be. Love, lust, treachery, redemption, death, tragedy, beauty. I recommend it for anyone!
Rating: Summary: The best of Kathleen Woodiwiss Review: Of all her many wonderful books, this book is my favorite romance by her or any other author. It has everything, romance at its most heart stopping, intrigue, mystery, comedy, and is set in a most romantic time, England in the 1700's. The hero is the dashing Christopher, a man of many talents. Erienne is a heroine caught in a web of emotion, torn between family, honor, and her own desires. Woodiweiss will probably never top this one, but romance lovers can always hope!
Rating: Summary: Woodiwiss hits home again! Review: Northern England in the late 1700's -- a time of Lords... taverns... grand balls... and family honor. Experience the ever-churning emotions of Erienne Fleming as she learns to love the handsome and charming Yankee captain, Christopher Seton.</P>
Excellent... heart-warming... you won't want to miss this one!
