Rating: Summary: One of the funniest time travel romances!!! Review: It's been a while since I read this novel, but it has stuck in my mind. Loved the plot, loved the characters, and loved the fact that somehow Bangs made me believe in the fact that even though the heroine traveled back in time, she could still use her cell phone. If you love timetravel romances, this is one that you should not pass up.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book! Review: Nina Bangs is the hottest, sexiest writer today! She breathes life into her characters and makes me long for a pleasure master of my own! If you like hot and sexy, you'll love THE PLEASURE MASTER.
Rating: Summary: Good time travel romance Review: The man made me so hot it was incredible. The story was well written and made you wish such a man did exist. It was wonderful and funny how she got exactly the opposite of what she wanted. But that's life for you.
Rating: Summary: Hot! Review: The Pleasure Master is a man who knows his business; pleasuring women. He gives women just what they want and more. Kathy Bartlett traveled back in time with her cell phone and some very unusual toys to 1542. The people she first met are unusual, and highlanders. As they advance on her, she sprays mousse on their "love guns". The first of them, Ian Ross, isn't so easy to frighten, as his two brothers run away in terror. Later they issue him a challenge that he can't let go. He must give Kathy his best. If it proves that they can meet their challenge before he does, the one that does becomes The Pleasure Master. Ian isn't one to back away from a challenge, and seeks to win the bet. In the end, though, it is Kathy who wins, especially with her heart. As their blood heats up and the men in Ian's family try to win the title, the one thing they never counted on was love. Ian is arrogant, yet truthful in his arrogance. He also has a deeply hidden vulnerability and a need for reassurance. Kathy pretends to be strong when she really is scared inside. She never bets on Ian shaking her up and stealing her heart. They are two very special characters. THE PLEASURE MASTER is fun, exciting, and comical! I can't wait for Ms. Bang's next book! Romance At Its Best
Rating: Summary: Tons of Fun Review: The Pleasure Master is a romp from beginning to end. Every woman can relate to Kathy Bartlett, disappointed by her husband and yet blamed for everything. When she lands in 1500 Scotland with a movie quoting toy, the fun really begins. Enter the Pleasure Master, a man devoted to bringing women to sexual nirvana. Kathy thinks she's not interested, but who could resist? Nina Bangs does a fantastic time travel. Her unique twists make me look forward to each new book. Don't miss The Pleasure Master.
Rating: Summary: What a wonderful book! Review: The Pleasure Master opens with a bang and doesn't slow down. Kathy, a NY hairdresser, finds herself in Scotland in the 1500s, where she meets Ian, the Pleasure Master. Ian wants to seduce Kathy as part of a competition with his brothers. Kathy, however, wants no part of the competition, or Ian. The opening scene is just hilarious, and I loved the way Kathy defended herself with one of the tools of her trade. This is a great book!
Rating: Summary: Slow start to the book, but it was worth it in the end Review: This book took a long time for me to get into it. For about the first 150 pages or so I was considering just not finishing it. Kathy is driving in New York on Christmas Eve with a bag of toys when her car breaks down. As she's waiting for her tow truck, she wishes to one of her toys (which she's named Peter) for "warmth, peace, and a subservient man." After that, Peter's lights start flashing and all of a sudden Kathy is in Scotland in 1542. Ian is essentially a male prostitute with a pretty name, "The Pleasure Master." He doesn't get paid for what he does; he considers it a service he provides (This is what is supposed to keep us from realizing that he's a prostitute). He doesn't trust anyone, including his two brothers who want to be The Pleasure Master themselves. That's why they set the challenge for him to seduce Kathy. They, in turn, each has to seduce a woman of Ian's choosing and whichever of them seduces their woman first wins the challenge and is The Pleasure Master. I started warming up to the characters about midway through the book. I think this book just had an exceptionally long section for getting to know the characters and setting the scene. I've read in some of the other reviews that some readers didn't like how 'unrealistic' the story was. My feeling is if it's a time-travel story unrealistic is a given. But for those of you who like "realism" in your time-travel, this probably isn't the book for you. Kathy's cell phone works in 1542 and throughout the book she speaks on it to her lawyer in 2001. I recommend this book with reservations. In the end it was a fun light read. I recommend it to readers who like to have a very thorough understanding of the characters and the situation in a story. I would not recommend this book to readers (like myself) who prefer a more brief introduction to the story and want the characters to be likeable throughout the entire book, not just the second half.

Rating: Summary: This was a great read! Review: This is my first book from author Nina Bangs and I can't wait to read another! It was fun, great dialogue... definitely a treat! This is not a book for someone looking for major depth in a romance.... but it's perfect for someone looking for a quick, enjoyable read.
Rating: Summary: funny but a little on the weird side Review: This is the first time i've read one of Nina Bangs books.. I am a lover of time travel romance and enjoy the twist and turns that most time travel books provide.. This book however was a tad too weird even for my taste.. Parts of the book were hysterically funny and had me rolling with tears in my eyes and a drastic need for oxygen but the unbelievable Mechanical Peter... and his movie one liners were not even remotly believable... I found the end very lacking and the lack of anything truely physical and steamy until the last chapters a real let down... Overall the book was amusing but not a keeper on my shelves and certainly not one I would pass on to friends.. I think i would be too embarassed ..
