Review: Tearle Howard is my dream man and has been ever since I read this book. He made me laugh and cry. I fell in love with him almost from the first page he appeared. Although I was jealous because Zared found him first, I even liked her and thought she was a good match for him...in the end, that is. She was too much of a brat to like right away. I didn't think she deserved his patience but fortunately for her, she straightened up and became someone I could like. I loved this book.

Well I didn't like Zared not one bit. Sick of her, even when dude proved to her that he loved her and would just about die for her she still doubts him, his love and his intentions. He should have just kicked her to the shrub.(curb) or better yet just handed her over to his sick (mental) brother. I understand that she was brought up with her brother and their hatred, but come on give me a break. What else did he have to do to prove his love. He almost died before she could see this. How old was this woman, that's what I would like to have known. (i know it's just a book...but still!!)

Review: The Conquest was the first romance novel I read, and I had never read such a compelling novel before. I was crying in the middle of the novel, feeling pain and love simultaneously. Because of The Conquest, I became a super fan of historical romance novels and especially, Jude Deveraux. Thank you so much, Jude, for teaching me all the beauty behind historical romances.

Review: This novel was my first attempt at a romance and I was totally blown away! It kept me enthralled the entire time. I ended up staying up until 3 in the morning on a school night just to finish it! I couldn't put it down, and so far, this has applied to all of Jude Deveraux's books. Five stars and two thumbs way, way up!

Review: This was an excellent novel! After I had read the Taming, I wanted to read more. Well, I was lucky to find that Jude Devereaux made a continuation to the Peregrine saga. Zared was an interesting character, right after my own heart. She was young and beautiful but still a foolish Peregrine, much like Rogan was in the Taming. ....

Review: this was my first historical romance and also my first Jude Deveraux book. I have been hooked ever since. If you haven't read it, take my advice, go to the nearest bookstore and buy it. It is excellent!

Review: This was, next to Sweet Liar, one of Devereux's best books. Zared was strong and weak and human, and her man.. Anyway you have GOT TO READ THIS BOOK!!! (and sweet liar)

Summary: Jude Deveraux at her best!
Review: To be honest, I didn't like this book at first. I felt that Zared and her brothers were unbearably harsh and unlikable and Tearle was a wishy-washy idiot. I am so glad that I continued to read it because this is one of my favorite romances of all time. Jude Deveraux is such a talented writer. She weaves beautiful stories together with memorable characters and recreates times I wish I could be transported to. Because I am probably the world's pickiest reader, I don't like all of her books, but The Conquest is one that is near to my heart.Zared can be a difficult character to relate to at the beginning of the tale because she seems so hateful and narrow minded. However as the story unfolds, her brattiness becomes entertaining and a wonderful sense of humor shines through. She is the classic 'diamond in the rough' character that grows and proves herself to be one of the best romance heroines of any novel.Tearle is wonderfully unstereotypical as far as romance heros go. I don't know about anyone else, but I am truly sick of the overbearing, arrogant rapists prevalent in so many historical romances. Yes, he did seem like an idiot at the beginning, but his patience and romantic personality melted my heart. He is truly the perfect fantasy man, in my opinion.The plot itself is fun and exciting, and unlike many other romances doesn't get boring or seem to drag on forever. I especially love how humor is blended in at the most unexpected moments, I literally laughed out loud at some of the characters' antics. I found Lady Anne to be especially amusing, she was such a great character I think she should have had her own book.Okay, this book wasn't perfect. There are places in the story where Ms. Deveraux has a tendency to tell instead of show, and I wish there had been a few more love scenes. But in spite of the problems, which are forgivable, this is truly a five star novel and a keeper!
