Summary: Wish I could give it a 10....
Review: It's really amazing to read a list of reviews and not find one bad comment among them. The worst I read was that it wasn't hot enough. I actually thought that the one love scene that was written in was extremely hot. The love that was portrayed between these two people was breathtaking. When they parted the first time, I was in tears. He was an extension of her and she of him. They were best friends and that was the beauty of their love scenes. I highly recommend this book as does every other reviewer on this page. This is by far Lorraine Heath's biggest accomplishment as a writer. Nothing she has written beyond this novel can compare. She does go on to write the story of the other Leigh brothers, but they just don't melt your heart the way Houston Leigh does.
Find this book and buy it. I know it will one day be re-released because it definitely deserves it.

Summary: One word - INCREDIBLE!
Review: Set in 1876, Amelia Carson arrives on the Fort Worth train to marry Dallas Leigh. A Texan she has never met. She is running from the horror she has withnessed when her home in Georgia was torn apart by the war. She yearns for a family and a home and harbors that dream close to her heart while she sets off to meet Dallas. Yet, the man who meets her at the train station is not her intented but his brother, Houston. He was sent to escort Amelia back to the ranch.

Houston Leigh cannot compete with his brother's handsomeness nor does he even try. His face once considered handsome, had been ravaged by the war. A black eye patch covers the now empty socket and uneven scars cascade down the left side of his cheek giving him the appearance of something less than human. Yet, from the moment these two lonely people meet, something happens betwen them. An awareness flares to life.

Houston is helplessly drawn to Amelia's courage and beauty. She sees past his ravaged face to the man beneath. To his soul. Her gentleness melts the ice around his heart. He begins to laugh again and to dream. All of those forbidden longings center upon Amelia. Even the knowledge that she is bound to his brother, cannot sever the growing attraction.

Texas Destiny is an incredible, passionate lovestory between two lonely wounded souls. Amelia's uncompromising love heals a man who believes himself to be so very unworthy. She proves to Houston and to us, the reader, that love is the greatest cure of all. Simply incredible. . .

Summary: Tender, touching Texas love story
Review: Texas Destiny is a very touching story about two people drawn together during the aftermath of the Civil War. Their love story proves that love is not always where you expect it to be and those who think they are unworthy of love tend to be wrong.

Summary: Texas Destiny is a western version of Beauty & the Beast
Review: The ravages of war tore apart the Leigh family, leaving Houston to live in the shadows, Dallas determined to have the best of all worlds including an empire, a wife, and an heir, and Austin who has no one to teach him love still exists. Amelia Carson lost all she held dear on a plantation that was in the way of the North; her only hope was a new future, her dreams were all gone. After breaking his leg Dallas sends Houston for his mail order bride. When Amelia Carson meets Houston she sees behind the torn face of a young boy into the heart of a beautiful man and she begins to believe dreams can come true but maybe too late, she is to marry his brother. The only love Houston Leigh knew existed since the war was that for his horse and the land. One look and Houston knew this beautiful woman could make the shadows go away, but he would never be able to give her his love There is no way you won't cry yours eyes out. I ride the bus to work every morning and I doubt if I will ever live down my crying and the gentlemen next to me thinking I surely lost a loved one. Ms. Heath has written a beautiful love story that not only tears your heart out but makes you believe in dreams.

Summary: A Wonderful book!
Review: This book grabbed me from the first sentence and I couldn't put it down. It was wonderful! Ms. Heath has a way of putting so much feeling into her books. I felt such joy and sadness, but most of all hope. I cried, as well as laughed and it left me feeling uplifted. I would recommend this book to anyone.
