Rating: Summary: Another Fast-Paced Read!! Review: Ms. Hooper is an automatic buy for me when it comes to her romantic paranormal suspense reads. As per usual I've come to this series in a roundabout way but lo and behold I seem to have picked this series up in order.
Cassie Neill is a psychic that just wants peace and quite in her life. After a case goes bad she runs as far and as fast as she can to North Carolina. Here she finds a small little town and the peace that she seeks. Or at least she did until a serial killer starts hunting in her backyard and killing neighbors. This is all bad enough until the killer connects with Cassie. Now she feels obiligated to help and goes to Ben Ryan hoping he will understand her talents and accept her help.
Ben Ryan is drawn to Cassie. He knows that she is the real deal and he doesn't want her tangling with the mind of a serial killer. Unfortunatly what he wants and what he gets are two different things. Now as more and more dead bodies turn up and the fear and anger of the town increases his self appointed job of keeping Cassie safe is getting harder and harder to achieve. Than the unexpected happens will Ben be able to save the life of the first woman he's ever loved?
This was a very fast-paced read and it goes without say that the storyline was unique and engrossing. Ms. Hooper is a truly talented author and her characters are larger than life and very vivid. As a result the reader will easily be transport to Ryans Bluff, North Carolina and the make believe world that Ms. Hooper has created.

Rating: Summary: I like the whole series! Review: Psychic Cassie Neill is the center of this novel. She made a mistake in the past and has relocated only to find herself in the middle of yet another investigation.
This book was significantly creepy. Kay Hooper is doing great with her psychic mysteries and you can tell she does a lot of background work before she jumps into anything. There aren't any holes in her stories! I am impressed!
Rating: Summary: Stealing my precious time Review: For those of you who like mysteries that follow clues and have great detective work, this is not for you. Did not hold my attention and I forced myself to finish it. Maybe it's the psychic angle that I found unbelievable. Very predictable and people dying left and right with no time to follow a single clue, not that they looked for them anyways.
Rating: Summary: Good Story Review: I really enjoyed the initial premise of this story. I tend to like serial killer stories and I also like stories concerning psychics. I thought this one was quite effective starting out, but started to fall apart and become unbelievable near the end. Still, I enjoyed the characters, I enjoyed the story line, and I would recommend. Cassie is a psychic who left her home and moved to a small town to escape her old life. She was a very good psychic helping the police solve cases. In one instance though the killer knew Cassie was in his mind, and fouled an attempt for the police to locate him. At the same time this enabled him to kill a child. This event pushed Cassie over the edge and she shies away from all psychic activity. Of course a killing occurs in her home town and Cassie knows the killer is near. She has no choice but to go to the local police dept and obtain the help of a detective there, Ben. Ben and Cassie have to work together to catch the killer and deal with their growing attraction to one another. Predicable story, but likeable characters. Like I said the only flaw in the story to me was the ending - it did not seem believable to me.
Rating: Summary: A Terrific Horror Story and A Lovely Romance Review: I'm not going to talk to much about the book here in my review. Because I don't want to give anything away about it. I must say though that I was extremely impressed with this book. It was the first Kay Hooper book I've read, but to tell you how much I liked it I went out and bought the other "Shadows" books along with the rest of the Noah Bishop series. So obviously you can see I plan on reading more from Kay. I am going to tell you that the characters in the book were awesome! Cassie is strong and brave and quite independant at times. Ben is your average hero, but he adds his own little bit to the mix. Matt is your classic run of the mill bull headed man, and it was nice to get a glimpse of Noah Bishop (who I'm sure will play a bigger role in the next book). So if your looking for a quick and interesting read, pick up Stealing Shadows, you'll find it stole more than the shadows too!
