Summary: Outstanding
Review: Kay Hooper does it again with a book out of the norm and the suspense is high... Cassie Neill has a power that she isn't too pleased to have. She inherited from her mother and her mother's mother before her etc. She can enter the mind of a madman and help the police to catch him. Cassie is a psychic. After a horrible experience in Los Angeles she moves several hundred miles away to Ryan's Bluff. A nice peaceful and small town. Suddenly her world is turned upside down again. There's a killer out there and she knows what he's doing. She puts her life on the line again to help a cynical cop and a believing district attorney to solve this case. This could be her last case because when she enters the mind of a madman she may not be able to get out.

Summary: WARNING: This is a One-Sitting Read!
Review: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Ms. Hooper didn't just jump from writing romance to writing suspense, she's leapt, soared, and landed solidly on both feet. What a wonderful book! I highly recommend it to all readers who enjoy stories about credible people who act logically and with compassion. The protagonist's gift is handled with sensitivity and authority. Bravo, Ms. Hooper! And thank you for a great read.

Summary: Great Suspence Story
Review: Stealing Shadows is a great suspence story, and Kay Hooper is coming into her own as a master suspence writer. The story line is believable and you will appreciate the depth of the plot and the realness of the characters. An excellent read, and I can't wait for her 2 new suspence books, "Hiding In The Shadows", and "Out of the Shadows", both of which look to be qreat.

Summary: Stealing Shadows
Review: I was looking around for a good book, and you know how hard it is to just get the "right one." I picked up the book Stealing Shadows by Kay Hooper. After reading the first page in the store, I kind of thought it would be a fast reader. After I started reading it, it was really hard to put down! Once I finally finished it, a few days later, I couldnt wait to get another book by her. It was a fast reader, and didnt involve alot of courtroom drama or cops (which bore me) ..a really really good book.

Summary: Absolutely fantastic
Review: Telepath Cassie Neil knows the potential cost of helping the police catch the monsters butchering and killing innocent people. She realizes she risks her mind and her soul every time she goes into the mind of these beasts. A soul weary Cassie has entered the brains of too many malevolent beings. She quits the deadly game and moves to quiet Ryan's Bluff, North Carolina.

Cassie finds some peace and tranquility for the first time since she first hunted psychopaths. However, her rest and relaxation abruptly ends when a local resident relishes his first kill. Cassie taps inside the twisted pervert's mind and learns he will turn into a killing machine unless stopped. After the town sheriff rebuffs her appeal, Cassie asks Judge Ben Ryan for help. He believes her, especially when the killings start. Together they seek a homicidal murderer terrorizing the community.

Kay Hooper's books always contain a special spark so that her current powerful and fascinating tale will not surprise anyone. The para-psychic heroine comes across as vulnerable, leading to readers feeling very sympathetic towards her demons. The story line takes an unexpected twist, especially in the climax. STEALING SHADOWS steals the hearts of its audience as few novels can.

Summary: Wow-actually suspenseful
Review: Excellent read. KH, unlike a lot of other romance/suspense writers, weaves a truely suspenseful tale. I was glad this was paperback and I'm looking forward to reading the next two books. There is romance/relationships in the book but they don't detract from the story. It all blends well. Well done Ms. H.

Summary: Stealing Shadows
Review: This is a great book. The story is compelling and the characterizations are wonderful. You will be drawn into the story from the first page and will find it very difficult to put it down before reaching the last page. I felt great empathy for Cassie and the other characters in the book. Although the story centers on Cassie and her psychic ability, the plot is credible and the other personalities also come alive.

Summary: High on Suspense, Low on Romance, But Still Great!
Review: This was a great read that will keep you guessing as to who the murder is, almost a first for me. Normally in the romantic suspense you can guess the murderer in the first chapter. In this one, I had a suspicion, but was thrown off and doubted my real guess. I had to finish it to appease my curiosity. I love a book you can not put down. I was really excited to learn that FBI Agent Noah Bishop, who is very enigmatic and sexy will be appearing in 2 more books in the coming months. It will be great to find out more about him without having to wait. This is definately more a mystery than a romance. For those of you who love Kay Hooper, you will not find the personal chemistry between the characters of some of her other books, but you will get a great suspense book.

Summary: Wow!
Review: I was just cruising through an aisle of books and 'Stealing Shadows' caught my eye. I read the cover and found myself intrigued. I have heard of Kay Hooper, but am sorry to say never ventured into her books...until now. When I neared the ending and they caught the 'bad guy', I was astonished at how engrossed I was in the story. I'd have to say that this book is up there with Johansen, Hoag, and Krentz (all of whom praised the book). Be SURE to check out Hoopers exciting new series!!!

Summary: Spooky Stuff
Review: Cassie Neill is a psychic who makes a mistake while helping the L.A. police try to catch a killer. Her mistake results in the death of a child, for which Cassie blames herself. When her aunt dies and leaves her a house in Ryan's Bluff, North Carolina, Cassie moves in, hoping to distance herself from police work and notoriety. Her hopes are dashed, however, when she inadvertently enters the mind of a killer and "sees" his horrifying plans. Intent on stopping the murder before it happens, she goes to Sheriff Matt Dunbar, who doesn't believe her, and then to the local prosecutor, Ben Ryan. Ben is skeptical but willing to listen with an open mind. Ben not only becomes a believer when the first body turns up, but becomes Cassie's defender when his friend the sheriff is openly suspicious of her. As the killer becomes bolder, the danger to Cassie escalates as the sheriff learns to trust her and rely on her for clues to the killer's identity. This chilling page-turner is scary as all get-out, and I will definitely be looking for more of Kay Hooper's books.
