Rating: Summary: It was fabulous! Review: I thought this book was wonderful! I don't understand the "reviewers" who thought it was "too funny" or "not emotional enough". Some readers don't seem to understand that authors can't write the same book over and over again just to please them and that MOST readers wouldn't want them to. The thing I've always loved about Ms. Medieros's books is that she manages to make each one fresh and different. Lord Bannor the Bold was my hero, too!
Rating: Summary: Definitely not Medeiros quality Review: Teresa Medeiros writes excellent books, but unfortunately, this book does not meet her usual standards. Compared with her other books, this one was extremely shallow. There was no tugging on the heartstrings at all. The first half of the book was almost entirely focused on the heroine's relationship with the hero's numerous children. The second half was really the story between the two main characters. I think Medeiros might have gotten a good read out of this, if she really had concentrated on romance and developing the relationship between the two characters, instead of trying to garner laughs. It didn't work too well. Also, Medeiros tried too hard to make the hero look good in the reader's eyes. I really didn't know all that much about his character, except he was a great warrior, a good lover, and had a soft spot for orphans. He had also had two previous wives, whom another character said the hero had loved deeply, even though he wasn't around them most of the time. That made me wonder how the heroine of this story was so special and different to the hero. This is an okay read, I guess, but really doesn't measure up to Medeiro's usual works. P.S. Bannor the Bold, Lord of Elsinore? Can't we think of better names?
Rating: Summary: A Delightful Read! Review: In the beginning of the book Bannor the Bold is being chased (and we assume by a warrior) and is running for his life. In a few pages we discover he is actually running from his gang of children who are chasing him. He is a renouned warrior, brave beyond any measure, yet he is afraid of his "demon children". This book is so humorous that I found myself just bursting out laughing while reading it. It is not only funny but extremely well written. The characters are well rounded and just literally come to life. It is also a wonderful, touching love story with a happy ending. What a great book!!!
Rating: Summary: Not Teresa's very best Review: I've read all of Teresa's books, and this one does not come up to scratch. In writing this, I think she concentrated too much and too hard on the humor and lost a lot of her poignancy and deep feeling. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a bad book all things considered, but definitely not one of her best.
Rating: Summary: Do yourself a favor - Read This Book!!!!!! Review: This is the second TM book I've read, and I must say, I'm a convert! I think, however, that she was spying on my children (and the ones I do daycare for) to come up with such naughtiness! :) Great work Teresa! I too would like to see Desmond and Bea in a book somewhere down the line (hint hint)
Rating: Summary: I wanted to give it ten stars! Review: I thought it was great. Just the right amount of laughter and tears. I fell in love with Bannor and wanted to be Lady Willow. I haven't been reading many romances lately, but this book made me want to run out and buy more.
Rating: Summary: I don't think it deserves 5 stars Review: This was the first romance novel I have read in all my life and am a little disappointed in it. This book didn't captivate me, it really didn't hold my attention or kept my interest. I mean I wasn't forcing myself to read it, but while I was reading it I couldn't concentrate on it for more than 2 chapters at a time and felt my mind start to wander. It's not a bad book, I've read much, much worse I just wouldn't rave about it and I certainly wouldn't give it 5 stars. I think 3 is fair.
Rating: Summary: Very cute, but not her best Review: I LOVE Teresa Medeiros - truly I do. But this book, for all it's poignant scenes, didn't grab me as much as some of her others. The love scenes lacked "closure" for lack of a better word. Not enough of them, and if they were trying NOT to have a baby then they weren't doing it right. Plus, if I read the name "Mary", "Margaret" or "Mary Margaret" one more time I thought I'd go nuts!
Rating: Summary: Enchanting, marvelous it's a saver you'll read over and over. Review: It's the first book I've read of Teresa Medeiros, and I plan to read more . I'm an avid romance reader and I couldn't put this book down. You'll love it.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: This was my first book by Ms Medeiros and I loved it. It was funny and sweet. I highly recommend it.
