Rating: Summary: Full of excitement, ranching...and love!!!! Review: I found myself staying up at night just to read this book. Its one of the most exciting and passionate books Ive ever read. When I first started the book, it seemed so boring and full of too many details, but as I read on, I found out why those details were necessary. Jack Mercy was the biggest jerk that I had ever read about and I was glad that he died. The author portrayed him very well and I felt as if I knew him inside and out...and I didnt like him! And I really felt as if I was one of the daughters and I wished I was. they had a great life out there on the ranch (except when the guy was trying to kill them and other women, I was really scared, although when it came to romance...) But one guy scared the living...out of me. He was the killeer and you never know why he did it, or why he enjoyed it. He remained anonamous throughout the entire book until the end, when one of the daughters reveals his name. Then you ask yourself "why did he do this?" I also enjoyed the romance part of the story too. One of the daughters was VERY seducing, another had been abused by her last husband and the third thought she hated the guy that she actually loved. They were all so different, but they were all after the same thing and they had one goal in common. All in all, the book was very well written and was definatly a non-put-down book! I LUVED IT!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful book.,shows the bond that grows between sisters Review: Montana Sky was the first book I ever read by Nora Roberts. It was such a touching, not to mention gripping book, that I could'nt put it down. Now, three years later, I have read nearly every book she has written. I would love to see a follow up book on Willa, Tess, and Lily, and how they are coping with their new husbands, and a life together as sisters who are no longer having to put up with each for ONLY a year, but now for the rest of their lives.
Rating: Summary: Great Read Review: This is the first Nora Roberts book I have read and it was a refreshing change from some other authors. I especially liked the fact that the three main characters were realistic, strong women, in different ways. The story line wasn't predictable either, it had me guessing until the last minute. As a professional in the veterinary field, I wasn't thrilled with the animal slaughter descriptions, but it wasn't offensive enough to make me put the book down. I'm going to try another one of her books and, hopefully, it will be as good as this one.
Rating: Summary: COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! Review: First book by this author that I have read. This was a Christmas present and I couldn't put it down. A little bit of everything! I dug it.
Rating: Summary: A Get-Hooked Story Review: This is the first book of Nora Roberts' I have read. I am not a romance novel reader...I generally like biographies, history, etc. But I was attracted to the title as I was browsing in the library. I have been to Montana, which is one of the most beautiful places on earth....needless to say, I enjoyed this book. It was hard to put down. SOme of the other reviewers mentioned the use of expletives, descriptions of sex and murder as off-putting. This gave the book its local color, interest and suspense.
Rating: Summary: Thrilling! Review: This is my first time being addicted to just one author.....Since reading Born in Fire, Born in Ice and Born in Shame, I didn't think Ms. Roberts would live up to my expectations. She did with Montana Sky and now I'm on to Sea Swept and hope it's as good as the last four I've read!!
Rating: Summary: too good to put down Review: Nora Roberts, "Montana Sky", Jove, 1997. At least 5 books, (3 romance novels, a western and a mystery) all packed into one tight, exciting, fast paced book. One of Nora's finest from start to finish. Yes, I liked it a lot! It has one of the best opening paragraphs of the decade. "Being dead didn't make Jack Mercy less of a son of a bitch. One week of dead didn't offset sixty-eight years of living mean. Plenty of the people gathered by his grave would be happy to say so." Set in the stark natural beauty of the Montana Rockies, three estranged sisters Willa, Tess and Lily are bound together by the last will and testament of their miserable s.o.b. father. If they want to keep the ranch they have to live together on it for a year. Nora carefully paints a sensual, intricate, bizarre family portrait as the three adapt to each other, to the men in their lives and harsh reality of cattle ranching. This ones too good to put down.
Rating: Summary: A great book full of mystery, love, compasion and excitement Review: This was my first Nora Roberts book, and I enjoyed it very much. I liked the idea that the sisters had to learn to get along. I was a little disapointed with the cusing words and the murders were a little gory, but she left a lot of it to your imagination - no great details about the murders! Great book, easy to read. When you are done, you will want to read it again! I am ordering more!
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I read in years!!!!!! Review: After enjoying this book so much I actually went out and bought a few more of her book and enjoyed them all just as much. Nora Roberts is one excellent writer.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorites Review: This was my first Nora Roberts book and I am trying to decide what will be my next. The story was great and the characters were very human. This is a great read.
