Rating: Summary: Best Amongst The Only Series! Review: "Only Mine"is the best amongst the Only series! Unlike the other females, Jessi is a refreshing change, and Wolfe is quite the hero. A great read with an original plot, lots of great phrases(if you're the kind of person who collects phrases) and a touching end with a slight twist. Recommanded.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book - as I have all the other "onlys!" Review: Elizabeth Lowell has done a terrific job in making the "only" characters flow from one book to the other. Whip, Reno and Willi have become one of my favorite families. I was sad to read the last of the four books. However, I'm keeping my hopes up -- there are still two more brothers that have been mentioned in all the books. Don't disappoint us, Elizabeth. Now that you've teased us with the knowledge there are more, bring these two additional brothers to the Rockies and continue with the "Onlys!"
Rating: Summary: I honesty cannot believe that others gave this book 5 stars Review: I am normally a fan of Elizabeth Lowell's. However, this book is certainly not for those who have out-grown the whole "man who loves a woman yet is emotionally abusive to her" type of novel. Not only does the "hero" Wolfe literally spend 300 pages verbally abusing and punishing the heroine, his sins are simply absolved at the end of the story when he says "I love you" for the first and only time on the very last page of the book. So realistic. This book is told almost entirely from the heroine's perspective, and Wolfe is really a brute. The conclusion of the book is also almost identical to the conclusion of "Only His".
Rating: Summary: Why didn't this book get 5 Stars Overall???!!!!??? Review: I borrowed this book from the library, but am now buying it. I will read it over and over!! Elizabeth Lowell is an exceptional writer and she has made me a follower. Next to Shanna by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, I cannot recall reading another book that is as romantic as this book is. I read it in one evening. I absolutely could not put it down! Now I need to get all the "only" books.
Rating: Summary: I am beginning to love Elizabeth Lowell Review: I finished this book last night. It was the second book I have ready by Elizabeth Lowell, the first being only his. I enjoyed this book and I had a bad feeling going into it because I read the reviews before I read the book. I find Wolfe being hard on Jessi but not as hard as I have read some men being on women in other romances. He never touches her in an abusive manner. He does say many horrible things to her but in the end everything works out just fine. I really like the reunion with Reno and Willow and Caleb. I admit it, after Wolfe and Jessi met up with Reno and Rafe I though one of them should have knocked some sence into Wolfe or taken Jessie for themselfs.(...) But everythign worked out in the end. I do feel this book is vital to reading the series.
Rating: Summary: Only Mine Review: I found the book to be a fun read. Though I became frustrated with the characters at times I found the book to be believable for the time period. Wolfe and Jessi were both people haunted by a past that life dealt them. It's understandable why his mother named him what she did because she knew the life he would have because of his heritage or lack of heritage being an illegitamate child. It is understandable that Wolfe hated aristocracy and that Jessi had no idea what a real marriage was about, since that type of society is very plastic and polished so that thing are not always as they seem. I could truely feel Wolfes pain as an outcast and a boy growing up without the guidiance of his father. I truely did fall in love with Wolfe. I also loved Jessi because she was so strong and determined to learn and to be a good wife and because she was so honest.
Rating: Summary: heartwrenching tearjerker - her best Review: I like lowell, but this was the first book of hers I read and no other has come even close. The heroine is endearing and easy to identify with and feel for. The hero is very appealing and his misunderstandings of the heroine are easy to understand. it's one of the few where you really don't see how there will be a happy ending.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: I reread "Only Mine" last night and was once again surprised by how much I enjoyed the book. Wolfe and Jessi loved each other from the very beginning of the story. The problem was that Jessi trapped Wolfe into marrying her to get away from England and a forced marriage arranged by her guardians. Most of the book is about how Wolfe tries to force Jessi into getting an annulment, not understanding why she claims to need him so much. Jessica was a woman who was still haunted by a childhood that had left her emotionally scarred. Her struggles to fight back her demons and withstand the scorn of the man she loved were described so well that I almost felt like I was her. Lowell's amazing talent made this book a memorable romance novel with two very strong characters. "Only Mine" also has Caleb Black, Willow, Reno, and Whip, which made it even better. I would recommend that anyone who likes Lowell read the entire "Only" series, because all of the books are wonderful.
