Summary: Wish we could be warned about reprints!
Review: I eagerly await new books by Linda Howard and used the pre-ordering facility by amazon to purchase this. I was very disappointed to discover that I had already read this compilation of three stories. I love this author but these stories were too short to really grab you.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not Great
Review: I generally like Linda Howard's style of writing. That style is certainly evident here but the stories don't have much development which is not like some of her past writing. Characters and locale are described adequately but the characters just jump together almost instantly. There's not much story in these short stories. Missing is the "thrill of the chase" as another reviewer put it.

Summary: Reprints not a problem
Review: I had no problem with the fact that these stories were reprints. I had only read one of the stories previously and the price was not bad for a hardcover. I like Linda Howard and I would like to see something new from her, BUT I don't mind reading older books that are being reprinted. Everyone knows that this is a big trend with publishers now, so check the book out before you buy it. If you have read it and don't want to again then don't buy it, but if, like me, you haven't read ALL the old titles of your fav authors then be glad that you get the chance to now.

Summary: Linda Howard is the Queen!
Review: I have read and loved almost all of Linda Howard's books! She is a master story-teller...Her stories just unravel beautifully, but they're fast-paced too, and the sensuality and emotion is always high. STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT was no different! It was a collection of short stories, each one chock-full of passionate love. She is the master! WHITE OUT was my favorite story in this book, but they're all intriguing from the first page. Highly recommend!

Summary: Linda Howard never dissapoints!
Review: I loved this book because I like my romances to be mostly about the two main characters, not to much else going on, just enough to make a great story. I always get exactly what I want from her books.

Summary: If you haven't already read them, three great novellas
Review: I was more than a little disappointed when I opened this book and realized I'd bought it without knowing that it was a compilation of three of Howard's previously released novellas, each of which I already own. I'll accept some mea culpa here, but it's annoying to have a book hyped as a "new" release when there's nothing "new" about it. Fortunately, these are three of my favorite works by Howard, and it's nice to have them together in a hardback edition. Howard is a master at adapting the novella format to contemporary romance. Her focus is almost exclusively on the characters and instantly building a sharp sexual tension between them. In each of these stories, the characters meet for the first time and circumstances allow them to skip most of the subtleties of courtship and move straight into steamy and intense relationships. "Lake of Dreams" is the first work I ever read by Howard, and ever since she's been one of my favorite authors. "Blue Moon" and "White Out" are even better. If you like contemporary romance - and you don't already own these stories - "Strangers in the Night" is an essential addition to your library.

Summary: Rehash
Review: I was very disappointed that these are re-prints of stories I already own. I was disappointed and feel it is misleading and DISHONEST of the printers to do this.

Boo hiss.

They are good stories, but COME ON! Print something new!

Summary: Don't Bother
Review: I'm a new fan of Linda Howard, and I love some of the other books she has wrote(like Heart of Fire) but don't bother with this one. The stories has no depth, too many words and the stories are so far fetched! These stories are about two people meeting, having sex, falling in love and deciding to spend the rest of they're lives together, ALL IN ONE DAY!! Very unrealistic, and it simply didn't sit well with me. In the third story, the women, pulls a half frozen, unconscious man in from the cold, and takes off her cloths to warm him up. She falls asleep on top on top of him, and then wakes up with him having sex with her. In my book this is rape, but she enjoys it and keeps going. She doesn't even know his name!! Then continues to sleep with him! Urgh! Don't bother with this book. Very disappointed.

Summary: What a rip!
Review: It is just 3 reprints, The "Lake of Dreams", "Blue Moon" and oh I can't remember the last one. I e-mailed Simon books and was sent an e-mail that said this was a NEW book with NEW stories. LIE ... I'm not saying the stories are not good they are. I have just already read them. When are publishers going to wise up and aknowledge that the buying public DO know the difference between reprint and new print.!@!

Summary: I would give it a zero if I could
Review: Like the other said this is a reprint of three novels. I wait for each "new" book by this author and I was really disappointed when this book arrived and it was reprints packaged in a hardcover and a hardcover price. Some of these authors are really testing my patience by continually floating old works packaged as new works. I am sending my copy back for a refund and stating the reason why. I think everyone else should do the same unless you don't already have copies of the original stories. This is the only way these authors and the publishers are going to get the message.
