Rating: Summary: My first Nora Roberts book Review: This is the first book by Nora Roberts that I have ever read. As most of the reviews have implied, it is a good book. It is not as if the book is suspense packed but I had no idea who the felon was till the very end and I give the book a 4-star for that mysterious edge.
The book is centered on "The Priest", a name given to the murderer by the media. In order to understand the mind of the killer and to understand why s/he has chosen such mysterious patterns of killings, a beautiful psychologist, Dr. Theresa Court is called in. Ben is one of the detectives working on the case and has a problem with Dr. Court but not with Tess. He has problems with psychologists because of a nasty experience in his past.
The book is divided into 3 parts:-
a). "The Priest":- The sub-plot about the priest was pretty good. It did not have much suspense about it but the mystery surrounding it all was shrouded excellently well. However, this sub-plot did not begin to thicken till the middle of the book.3 ½ stars.
b). Tess' and her patient, Joey:- This sub-plot was not really developed, reasonably so since it was more a "side-plot" of the book. The end of it was pretty touching. 3 ½ stars.
c). Tess and Ben: - The weak romance stories you can find in a usual Mills and Boon book. A relationship on a weak, if not non-existent, foundation. 2 star.
All in all, it was a really good book. I have 4 more of Nora's works to read and I can say I look forward to them all.
Rating: Summary: Ben's Newest Fan Review: This is the first Nora Roberts book I have read and I have to say, I love Ben Paris. The sexual tension between Ben and Tess kept me on edge, and the raport between Ed and Ben was comical. I am looking forward to reading "Brazen Virtues". Are there any other Roberts books that feature Ben, Tess and Ed? If not, there should be!!
Rating: Summary: Very good, but could've been better... Review: This is the first of Robert's books that I've read . I liked the characters and the plot was suspensefull but I felt that the characters relationship could've been done better. I didn't like the ending much either, I was expecting more of a "WOW!" feeling after finishing the book but I felt more of a "Eh, good book" feeling. I recommend it but there were certain slow chapters that I thought could've been left out all together. Overall though...it was pretty good.
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: This was my first Nora Roberts novel and I am very much impressed. I am going to catch up on the rest of them now.... I couldn't put it down, I was interrupting my work, school, everything just to read this book and find out who the killer was (and I only thought it could be the person once as a passing thought... a "could be him" moment).
Rating: Summary: A real Page turner! Review: This was my introduction to Nora Roberts and I will continue to read her wonderful books. Anybody that has been wanting to read a wonderful book just pick up a roberts book.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous! Review: This was probably my 13th or 15th Nora Roberts book.. Each time I pick one up I think it wont be as good as the last one, but she never lets me down! I thought this book was great! Being a major movie-head, I loved how I could picture everything that happened in this book like it would be happening on the screen! Roberts writes in such detail, she is truly a word artist! The story of Tess and Ben and their search for the "Preist" intrigued me from the first few pages, their relationship was interesting to watch develop around something as horrible as a physcopath with murder on his mind! Not only a good romance, but a thriller as well. I like the two genres mixing together in this way! All in all..it's a great read and I strongly recommend it as well as any other Nora book!!
