Summary: Shape-shifters are a dog of a disappointment.
Review: Should have been called "Dark Menagerie." I loved Holly's "Beyond Seduction" and "Beyond Innocence," so why did I find this eagerly anticipated book so...boring? Simply, it's missing the humanity that made the previous novels both plausible and sexy. If you can't get enough of shape-shifting, blood-drinking, angst-filled immortals in search of life mates to convert, this is for you. Personally, I hope Holly just dipped into the fantasy genre for a lark, and will give us a few more of the sizzling erotic historical romances that I enjoyed so much before.

Summary: Animals mating your bag?
Review: Then this is the book for you. While I found it disgusting rather than erotic, I suspect it will appeal to those odd ducks who are also into the sick vampire sex drivel that disguises itself as part of the romance genre.

Summary: Everything you need in One Book
Review: There isn't a Vampire or Were-Wolf book out there that I haven't either read or am looking for. Lately the Vampire genre has become hackneyed. The stories have become almost a formula and lacked originality.. but no longer.
Catching Midnight has the right blend of all elemoents of a good paranormal and better yet the plot was quite unique. A definite keeper and I look forward to other books in this genre by this author.

Summary: Might appeal to vampire romance fans, but not this reader.
Review: This book is okay, but not one that I would ever read again. Fans of vampire romances might like it better than I did, because I don't care for that genre.

Summary: Boring
Review: This book was so boring, it took forever to finish. I wish a zero star could be given.

Summary: Great Story!
Review: This is a new direction for this author and I loved this first foray into the "upyr" world. This story is less heavily erotic and more emotionally touching than some of her other books. I highly recomend it to anyone who wants to read about "real" characters falling in love. Neither the hero nor heroine are perfect or dominant to each other. Just a really good romance story.

Summary: Why Bother?
Review: This was the third Emma Holly book that I read and I was extremely disappointed. This book is preditable and completely tame. Some things are left unexplained and the reader can predict the sequence of events. If you haven't read it, don't buy it.

Summary: Everything A Fantasy Love Could Ask For
Review: Wow! I absolutely loved this book. It had a little bit of everything. Romance. Suspense. Mystery. Fantasy. Oh yeah...and hot ... Emma's beings seem to be a mix between vampire and shape shifter. The innocents, especially in the begining with her main female character, is just priceless. This is a must read. I kept it in my collection to read over and over again.
