Rating: Summary: One Kiss From You Review: "O MY GOD"! is all I can say. This is by far one of the best books I have ever read.I'd give this book a ten star rating if the star ratings went up that high, but since it only goes to five thats what it gets, but it deserves more. This was my first Christina Dodd book and it wont be my last! I didn't realize what I was missing by not reading any Christina Dodd books. Christina Dodd is by far one of my favorite authors now.If you have not read this book or never read anything by Christina Dodd before do yourself a favor and pick up this book and read it you wont be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: a good read Review: "One Kiss From You" is a sequel to "Scandalous Again," and faithfully chronicles the adventures of Miss Eleanor de Lacy as she reluctantly agrees to impersonate her cousin, Madeline, the Duchess of Magnus. In a fit of madness, the Duke of Magnus had wagered his daughter's (Madeline, the future Duchess of Magnus) hand in marriage as a stake while gambling. He lost, and subsequently, Madeline found herself engaged to be married to Remington Knight, a rich American. Magdeline, however, was not someone to sit idly by while others decide her fate. And she persuades her gentle cousin, Eleanor (who also acts as her companion), to pretend to be her and to go to London in order to meet Remington Knight, while she tries to figure a way out of her predicament. While Eleanor is reluctant to take part in so foolhardy an enterprise, loyalty to her cousin who took her in when she so desperately needed a home and a friend, makes her agree to the risky plan. But Eleanor is not at all sure if she can pull off this masquerade: Magdeline is flamboyant, autocratic and incredibly courageous -- everything Eleanor is not. And when she finds that she's perilously attracted to this brash and commanding American, Eleanor knows that she's sunk. For all she think about is what it would be like if Remington were really her's. But Remington seems obsessed with the notion of being married to the future duchess. And what Remington's reaction will be when he discovers that he's been wooing the wrong woman, Eleanor dare not contemplate... On the whole I found "One Kiss From You" to be a slightly more interesting read that "Scandalous Again." The story was a compelling one about revenge and murder, with two rather interesting characters at the center of it all. Remington Knight proved to be the rather typical Dodd romance hero -- likable but annoyingly arrogant and sure of himself (and reading about how him becomes fascinated and enthralled by Eleanor was a lot of fun); while in Eleanor we were provided with a heroine that was not quite the usual fare -- Eleanor initially seemed to quiet, timid yet courageous and honourable. But as the novel progressed, so too did Eleanor's character blossom, and she became more sure of herself and her capabilities -- and watching this happen was incredibly satisfying. The plot, however, did not unfold all that quickly but the somewhat sedate pacing did allow for the attraction that develops between Remington and Eleanor to establish "legs" (in fact some of the interaction between Remington and Eleanor were fairly scotching!). If I had one criticism (aside from my usual complaint about the usuage of twentieth century phrases and terms), it was that for a novel that centered around one man's need for revenge, that part of the plot was never really properly developed. All in all, "One Kiss From You" was a rather enjoyable read.

Rating: Summary: Very Sensual Entry in Switching Places Series Review: Eleanor de Lacy was devoted to her cousin and best friend, the future duchess, Madeline de Lacy and only because of such devotion had she agreed to switch places with her. Pretending to be the `duchess' that Remington Knight had won as a bride after Madeline's father had gambled her away in a card game, was only supposed to be a delaying tactic until Madeline herself could come and straighten everything out! Although, what no one had anticipated was that Eleanor would be so attracted to the very virile, very handsome, and extremely seductive Remington Knight -- that the best laid plans could change! When Remington pushed up the wedding date, and Madeline still had not shown up, Eleanor went ahead and married him anyway! Remington, had reasons for wanting to wed the future duchess, that had nothing to do with love but everything to do with revenge. What he did not expect was to be charmed by "the duchess" a woman he thought would be a stereotype haughty and spoiled aristocrat. Instead his plans to tame, break, and payback the de Lacy family as payment for destroying his family were about to backfire, as the very pleasant, modest and beautiful Eleanor would wreak her own brand of payback on him! But oh, what a way to go! I have to say that when I pick up a book by the estimable Ms. Dodd, (and I admit to being a big fan) I am so entertained that I cannot put it down. What more can you expect from well defined characters, a mystery murder to solve and sensual love scenes. She writes with such sensual pleasure that I swear I feel as much anticipatory tension as the virginal heroines in her books. This latest entry and book two in her Switching Places series has got to be one of her hottest yet! And may I say, that Remington Knight has also won a place in my top ten list of HOT and SEXY lead heroes. Whew - Dodd has outdid herself with this book that should come with a warning not to start late at night as you will not be able to put it down! --- Marilyn, Official Reviewer for www.historicromancewriters.com

Then she fall head over heels in love with him... he wanted to married her... he did not know her true identity.... until the wedding vows were said.... he was furious...later someone wants his life and now his wife is at risk...will they save the day?? i don't know..i just feel something is lacking in this book... its just too sudden that she falls in love...and i just feel not involed in the murder case(the one which had remington's family killed)....try the rules of trilogy from her instead...
Rating: Summary: Not Memorable Review: I agree with a couple of other reviewers that felt that Remmington was overbearing and Elenor was very weak. I dislike jelly fish women and overly aggressive chip on my shoulder heros.
Yes it is understandable that Remmington would want revenge on the man he thinks killed his family. However, using the mans daughter to get revenge has not only been done to death but is also not the mind set that I personnally look for in a hero.
I also had trouble understanding why Elenor feel in love with Remmington. What exactly did he do other than kiss her a couple of times before she fell in love with him. There was no getting to know you momments and he spent way too much timing ploting revenge or telling her what she is or is not going to do.
Oeverall the lack of charcter development and and lack of chemistry between Elenor and Remmington made this book seem never ending.
Rating: Summary: DELICIOUS!! Review: I couldn't hardly wait for this book to be published! I discovered Christina Dodd when a family member loaned me one of her Governess Series books, & now I read everything of hers I can find. She is one of the most talented romance writers of today & by far my favorite. "One Kiss From You" is the sequel to "Scandalous Again", her first installment of the Trading Places series. Although I enjoyed "Scandalous Again", this book is even better. One of the things I enjoy the most is her rare ability to combine great romance, steamy love scenes, a keen sense of humor, and some type of mystery. This book contains all those elements. What more could you ask for?! A word of warning though... you may want to have a glass of ice water and a fan nearby while reading this novel.
