Review: Although this has not been my favorite by Ms. Hill it was still a funny, well written book with great characters and a fun storyline. If you have been reading about this fun family from the beginning ("Love Potion & Tall, Dark & Cajun") you will know who Charmaine is and this is finally her story!Charmaine is an ex-Ms. Louisianna, hair dresser, who has been married and divorced (at least she thinks so) four times. Now she is on the run from the Mafia and if that's not enough trouble she finds out that her first husband (okay first true love but she won't admit it) is fresh out the prison, and that low and behold they are still married and she owns half of a cattle ranch. Raoul "Rusty" Lanier is fresh out of jail after two years. He was set up and his first priority is to find out the who,and the why. What he dosen't count on is running into his ex. Charmaine still has the ablity to knock him off his feet. The next thing he knows she's hiding out with him at his cattle ranch toting enough food to feed an army, a hope chest, oh...and lets not forget good 'ol St Jude. He knows his life will never be the same again. This could be a good thing! This was a fast paced read, and one that I found fun. All of the gang is here especially Tante Lulu. The chemistry between Charmaine and Raoul is Cajun hot. For a fun day at the beach read or just lying around the house you can't go wrong with Ms. Hill!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Hill's Back in the Saddle and the Bayou Review: I love Sandra Hill's sense of humor. I was less than thrilled with Tale of Two Vikings but The Cajun Cowboy had me laughing from page one.
Charmaine, the fluffy hairdresser you meet in the other two Cajun books is back with her own story. I can't say that I was overly interested in her character but Hill really paints a three dimensional woman who is constantly misjudged because of what she appears to be on the outside.
In walks Rusty, her ex husband and the bane of her libido. She tries to avoid him but it's impossible and bam, the ex in husband isn't so ex anymore when she finds that they aren't really divorced.
Hijinks ensue. She hides out from loan sharks at the dilapidated ranch they both own half of. Secrets surface, the two of them have a lot to work through. Loads of scorching chemistry between them erupts into great interludes, including one at a hourly motel that's also funny in addition to being sexy.
Tante Lulu is back with her St. Jude statues and hope chests, along with the LeDeux boys. You meet Charmaine's stripper mother and her airstream trailer and personal trainer as well.
The Cajun Cowboy is a great follow up to Tall Dark and Cajun and I'm eagerly awaiting Rene's story next!!

A fun read.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: That Tante Lulu is definitely a character!! Review: In Southern Louisiana Charmaine LeDeux, former state beauty queen winner and owner of two beauty parlors, knows borrowing from Bucks R Us was a mistake as the Mafia owned corporation charges usury rates. When an investment tanked she could not ask for help because she detest being labeled a bimbo, but that is how she behaved. Her first husband former convict Raoul Lanier informs Charmaine that they are still married because of something his father did so she has not had four divorces. He also tells her that she inherited half of his family's Triple L Ranch from the death of his father. She sees the spread as a place to hide from the mob while she waits for investments to make the cash to pay off the shark. At the ranch, Charmaine and Raoul emit sparks that would light up New Orleans during Mardi Gras. However, he hurt her when they were married and he believes she conned his dad into bequeathing half the ranch to her. Though they still love one another, a second chance at marriage seems undesirable for both of them besides which he has a quest to prove his innocence, regain his vet license, and learn more about his dad's demise. Though the gimmick has been used before, fans will enjoy Sandra Hill's latest Bayou cowboy romance because the principal couple love one another, but cannot live together without fighting. The mafia connection forces Charmaine to hide and thus relocate on Raoul's ranch, but takes away from the tale when stings occur. Still this is an amusing contemporary tale starring two fine protagonists and a horde of secondary players mostly smirking at the dynamic lead duet. Harriet Klausner

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Romance Cajun Style! Review: The Cajun Cowboy is a rollicking, rib-tickler of a southern novel. Charmaine LeDeux is having problems: she's on the run from a loan shark because she owes him $50,000, she's a born again virgin and her ex-husband Raoul "Rusty" Lanier is out of prison, and back to tell her that they're still married. So begins Sandra Hill's engaging tale about love's second chance. Charmaine needs a place to hide out, so she turn's to Raoul's ranch, the Triple L. She finds to her surprise that she owns half the ranch, so she figures this is her chance to improve the living conditions for the residents: Clarence the foreman, Linc the cowboy, and Jimmy, a fifteen year old boy Raoul is helping out. Of course, teasing Raoul is only a side benefit. Soon they are flirting and kissing up the storm, much to the pleasure of Tante, Lulu and the gang at the Triple L. Charmaine and Raoul are wonderful for each other; they have a steamy chemistry, lots of scorching heat, and a love that survives a ten-year almost divorce. Neither want to sign the divorce papers, yet they are both afraid to recommit to each other. Raoul can't forgive Charmaine for conspiring against him with his father, a man he hated, and Charmaine still replays their parting words of ten years ago that continually tear her apart inside. She doesn't think Raoul will ever see her as anything but a dumb bimbo. Charmaine is an extremely talented and smart woman, the antithesis of the dumb southern debutante and Raoul is anything but the generic cowboy often portrayed in romance novels. They both work hard in order to solve their problems, money, love, family, and business combined. With a little Cajun luck, Charmaine and Raoul will find their way back to each other, regardless of their other problems. This is a wonderful story, with plenty of southern charm and many laughs. Sandra Hill brings her characteristic wit and love to her newest Cajun romance. An appearance from past couples such as Sylvie and Luc, Rachel and Remy gives this spicy romantic novel extra Cajun flavor. There are tons of laughs from the hilarious Tante Lulu, but the main story of Raoul and Charmaine is what holds the attention of the reader. This is a charming story that will make you want to find your own Cajun Cowboy. Sarah W-- http://www.fallenangelreviews.com
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: That Tante Lulu is definitely a character!! Review: This book was not as good as (Tall, Dark and Cajun) in my opinion. But, it was good because of Tante Lulu, with her humor and hope chest, LOL. Charmaine and Raoul kept getting on my last nerves. How can you claim to be a born again virgin, especially to a man you've been in love with practically all your life. It didn't make any sense to me, but that's how crazy Charmaine's mind works. I was happy to see that she and Raoul did renew their vows, and ended up happily ever after.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Mon Dieu!!! Review: WOW! This was the first book I've ever read by Sandra Hill and man, let me tell you, she did not dissappoint! This book was everything a good romance novel should be... and more. I laughed, I cried, I sympathized with the chracaters and I certainly found myself wishing for a Cajun Cowboy of my own during those choice steamy scenes! The action in this novel starts in the first chapter and doesn't even end after you've turned the last page... Ms. Hill ends this novel with the perfect segue into the next novel of her series without taking away from the impact of the current story... I can't wait to track down her others books! Hot Loo-zee-anna summer! This gal's a winner!!! :)
