Summary: Horrible. Worst Feather I ever read.
Review: I don't even know how I managed to finish this extremely tiresome book. Neither of the main characters have any redeeming qualities. Genevieve is completely self-centered, and Dominick is an emotionless, dominating bully. The "history" parts are sketchy at best...the Battle of New Orleans is described in about 3 sentences, despite what the description on the back cover leads the reader to believe. There are plenty of other far more readable Feather books out there...either her writing or her editor improved vastly...so pick one of those. Don't bother with this trash.

Review: I fell in love with the two main characters. The book was interesting and engaging from the first to last page. I have read and re-read the novel at least a dozen times. This book is Jane Feather's best and the best historical romance novel I have ever read. I only wish she would write a sequel to the story so I could find out what happens to the characters after their marriage.

Review: I really enjoyed this book: it was a great romance about two unconventional individuals in a rigid society who share a love of adventure and freedom from restrictions. My favorite Jane Feather read along with "Vixen".

Review: This is a great book with a huge sense of adventure about it. As usual, Jane Feather transports us to the setting with her beautiful writing and an excellent flowing story line. The political aspects gave this story a great deal of tension and I couldn't put the book down as I had to know what's going to happen next! Of course, there's more of her trademark passion too. Wish more authors were like her, who's female leads are headstrong and won't give in, no matter what, as well as very adventurous and loyal. Can't wait for her next book!
