Rating: Summary: Is that it? Review: I loved this book. Rafe was really cool and Orchid was a great character, but is that it? Does the series end there? That would be a great dissapointment.
Rating: Summary: I think I've read this before....... Review: I've read these books and enjoyed them in spite of the fact that the plots were exactly the same...unmatchables conquering the system w/ true love, same who-donits, etc. In spite of these incredible similarities, I'll probably buy the next one in the series without hesitation. This is an interesting and fun world Ms Castle created. BUT: I find the women being "prisms" and men being "talents" way too traditional. No matter how feisty/strong etc the heroine is, she is still passive, needing the "talent". While this is certainly the sexual fact of life, there is no reason not to have women "talents" and men "prisms". Please, Ms Castle, give us a 100% modern, capable, active heroine
Rating: Summary: I loved It! Review: it was an excellent read. i loved the way Rafe and Orchid went at eachother, both physically and mentally. it was charming.
Rating: Summary: As usual, fantastic in every sense of the word!! Review: JAK an author who has something for every type of reader. As for me, I am constantly in search of new, interesting reads....and JAK is one who fulfills my needs every time. Orchid was a terrific ending to an awsome series. I cannot wait to see if she comes out with more like them!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent!! Jayne (Castle or Krentz) never disappoints. Review: Jayne Ann Krentz is one of the select few authors that I will buy her book without reading the back or inside cover. If her name is on it, I'll read it.I haven't been disappointed yet. In reading Jayne Castle I have been introduced to a whole new area of romance. Now I seek out futuristic romances.New Hope is a great now world and the characters are real and believeable, I love them! I always wait with bated breath for her next book.Keep up the good work.
Rating: Summary: Another keeper,a story that you'll read over and over again. Review: Just finished reading Orchid and loved it. it's another keeper. It was as entertaining as Amaryllis and Zennia.I am never disappointed with Miss Krentz's romances.I hope that she keeps writting about the people of St. Helen's. I'll read these books over and over again.
Rating: Summary: Her best of the series Review: On St. Helens, a lost colony of Earth, the stranded humans are divided into two distinct groups: psychics, who can create brief bursts of metaphysical powers; and prisms, who channel the psychic's power into a usable length of time. Psychic Rafe Stonebroker desperately seeks a wife to help him in his upcoming battle to regain control of the family shipping company. His exotic psychic power does not make him an appealing marital prospect. Amber, an ice prism, is in a similar way as Rafe as she too is looked upon as an odd duck by society. They meet when Rafe, fed up with the lack of results from the marriage brokers, goes out to find his own match. When the psychic and the prism meet, they form a powerful synergy that goes way above the highest levels ever recorded by scientists. Their personal relationship also forms, but their dynastic families and unknown enemies want this star-crossed couple kept apart. What can one say about a Jayne Castle reading experience except that it is always turns out to be a fascinating trip into an exotic, romanticized world. A Castle orb always consists of delightful, quirky characters engaged in exciting and unusual adventures. ORCHID is the third novel in Ms. Castle's fabulous futuristic romance series and it is the best to date because of the harmonious balance between romance and suspense. Ms. Castle continues to hold her queenly title in this evolving sub-genre. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Another Fun Tale about New St Helens Review: Orchid is the 3rd book in the paranormal, mystery, romance series set in the future on a distant planet. Once again, Jayne Castle has written a fun, lighthearted story about the `talented' inhabitants of New St Helens. I liked the story, though by book three I pretty much had figured out that Orchid would not go to bed with the male hunk after the first explosive kissing session. Like Amaryllis and Zinnia, a girl can't be too easy, after all, fool that she is. I also figured out the ending early on because this book seemed to follow the same general formula as Amaryllis and Zinnia. But no matter, the descriptions of life and customs in New St Helens kept me interested and still hungry for more. I hope to see the series continued!

Rating: Summary: 3rd in the Offworld Romance that is Dream!! Review: Orchid is the follow up book to Amaryllis and Zinna, in the off world old Earth colony of St. Helens. When the children of this colony grew up, it was discovered they were gifted with one of two talents: psychic ability or what they called a prism. The psychics were powerful, but they cannot control, focus it for any period time, without a prism. A prism channels their power and amplifies it. However, a psychic and a prism must be of the same level of strength or the psychic can overload and burn out the prism. Orchid Adams is a prism and she is just what Rafe Stonebroker needs:a wife!! He is trying to take over control of his grandfathers shipping cooperation, and to do that he needs a wife to make him appear settled. Only problem is he is an off the the chart psychic talent that has made placing him with the romance matching agencies a bit of a problem. He has contracted Orchid to help him with some private investigations, but he soon decides to do some matchmaking of his own. When an ancient artifact is stolen by Orchid's friend, they are tangled into a deep mystery of a mad killer desperate to cover his mistakes. Once again JAK gives us the dazzling shine of her talent!! Some of her best writing in years!! If you purchase the soon to be release reprint of Amaryllis and Zinna under the title HARMONY, you will most definitely wish to have Orchid as well!! People that love Nora Robert's JD Robb series should snap these up. I am surprised JAK is not getting better attention with these books since these are in the same vein.
