Summary: Kelly from Atlanta
Review: Another must-read from Laura Caldwell. You will love this book. Who hasn't dreamed about starting completely over and the possibilities therein? Kelly McGraw finds herself with a real clean slate and hers is a journey that we can all empathize with and enjoy. Caldwell makes us laugh and she makes us think. Hers are stories of substance, friendship, life, and laughter. There is something for everyone in "A Clean Slate" - it is definitely a must-read. Enjoy!

Summary: smart, suspenseful chick-lit
Review: By far one of the best 'chick lit' books I have read. This story rings true and I couldn't put it down. This author is going to go places! This is very different from any other RDI book that I have read, and I too, hope they keep going in this direction. The writing is excellent, almost literary, and the story is fast-paced and interesting, without the cliches that you often see, and a great thought-provoking ending.

This author has just landed on my auto-buy list...

Summary: Best RDI Author!!
Review: Caldwell is definitely becoming one of my favorite writers. Her writing is wonderful in a way that doesn't make you feel guilty for reading some random chick lit. Her books are beyond the ramblings of a lost and confused 20something, but she makes it seem possible to be young, beautiful, and successful. A Clean Slate is no different. It is extremely well-written with a touch of mystery that makes you keep reading til the last page. I stayed up late on a work night to finish this. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it didn't quite turn out the way I expected and hoped. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read some quality chick lit.

Summary: Fun *and* inspirational--all in one cute, pink book!
Review: Chicago readers will especially love this poignant, yet fun story of a gal who's rather lost her way when life has taken painful and unexpected turns. Out-of-towners will enjoy the description of Chicago neighborhoods and hangouts equally well, like a little travelogue (with intriguing plot). Caldwell's a humorous writer, so it's a good thing I was reading alone because I snorted aloud a few times at some of her unexpectedly funny lines.

I enjoyed the turn in the final two chapters where I truly connected with the story's protagonist, and felt substantiated in some of my own recent life choices. Pick up this book for an entertaining read, but you'll also gain encouragement and hope for turning your own painful life experiences into great new beginnings--creating your own clean slate.

Summary: Great Second Effort
Review: I enjoyed Caldwell's first book, Burning the Map, but I enjoyed this effort even more. This isn't some silly "chick lit" with the girl looking for the boy, and finding eternal happiness when she finds him. This is a story about a woman who finds herself. The character is interesting and faceted, and the story keeps your attention.

Summary: A great girly book with some substance!
Review: I just finished reading this book and I loved it. The premise of the story was like no other "chick lit". It had a mystery feel and kept me wondering about the main character. A great tale about looking deep within yourself and figuring out what life means to you.

Summary: A different type of chick lit
Review: I loved Laura Caldwell's first novel, "Burning the Map" and have been looking forward to her second book. "A Clean Slate" deals with Kelly who discovers that she has some memory loss problems had a chance to "do it all over again." The only thing Kelly remembered was that she was dumped by her longtime boyfriend Ben on her 30th birthday, retrenched by her company and was basically alone. Thankfully, her best friend, Laney was at her side to give her all the encouragement and support that she needed but despite that, Kelly was still not able to remember the events between her birthday and now. However, Kelly felt that something important happened during those months but she was at the same time too afraid to find out. Putting it behind her, Kelly was eager to start a new life and pursuing her interest in photography full time.

I think this is one of Red Dress Ink better books. It is definitely a lot more thought provoking than your regular chick lit. The author did a fantasic job of characterizing Kelly and is able to bring her to life. In addition, I like the relationship between Kelly and Laney which I thought was well developed. In addition, the book was very well-written, great secondary characters, and good plot. The whole "thing" that Kelly forgot but knew it was important was quite intriguing and the author was able to keep her readers guessing. This is a more serious chick lit compared to the rest and it is definitely worth your money. Laura Caldwell is certainly a promising writer in this genre.

Summary: Fantastic book!
Review: I loved this book! The story was writen to be very believable but it was a page turner at the same time. It proved that you can do whatever you want in your life, the past really dosen'y matter!

Summary: wonderful book
Review: I loved this book, in fact I could barely put it down! I loved the story of a woman living life to the fullest, living in the moment, and having zero memory of the past few months. What I didn't love was the ending. I thought it was kind of fake. But besides that I loved the book.
