Summary: Good Mental Popcorn
Review: Looking for socially redeeming fare? Look elsewhere, because this is NOT it! This is in the best tradition of "bodice ripping" romance, with explicit love scenes and scintillating men and women.

Summary: Not my favourite...
Review: Now I have read EVERY Bertrice Small book except Private Pleasures and Hellion.
I think my biggest problem with this book was that I am not interested in the time period. This period of history just does not seem romantic to me at all, though Ms. Small does her best to make it so.
Cailin is another headstrong Bertrice Small heroine who manages to conquer the important men in her life, except one or two of course, who cause trouble for her.
I love Ms. Small's books and characters, but will admit that they are predictable, and when you aren't enjoying one, it is extremely evident.
However, her books are better then most of the historical romances out there and are all worth a few stars.

Summary: Definatly not Sky O'Malley!
Review: This book was okay. I havent read too many of BSmall's novels that I DO NOT like. I made the mistake of reading all of the Sky O'Malley books before this one and nothing can really compare to that series.

This book is about a young woman who has learned to live outside the glowing rays of family love. One of her grandfathers wifes hates her with a passion and does whatever she can to hurt or humiliate Cailin. When a Saxon named Wulf Ironfist comes to thier castle Cailin is given to him for the evening even though she is a virgin. Things happen that night and they decide to get married. What happens after that is an interesting story of her surival among slavers and other such people.

If you get emotional reading survival stories, this would be a little bit of a tear jerker.

Summary: Great book!
Review: This is a great book! Nothing can top the earlier Skye O'malley books but this book is very consistent!

Summary: Another Wonderful Book by Small
Review: This is a wonderfully warm book. I couldn't put it down. The ending was a little sad, but also every uplifting. I definitly recommend this book to anyone wanting a book about the power of the human spirit to survive.

Summary: Great book!
Review: This is not her best work in my opinion, but it is good nonetheless! If you're a fan of the 450A.D. time period, this is a great read for you. This book captures the romance, intrigue and adventure that makes Ms. Small's books so exciting.
