Rating: Summary: Dull,Silly Book Review: After reading the back cover of "The Runaway Princess" by Christina Dodd, I was very much looking forward to read it. But the time that I got to page 258, I COULDN'T STAND IT ANY MORE! The book was so slow that by 258 I was still waiting for it start. I knew how it was going to end and I didn't even finish the book. The two main characters with clueless characters ever and I can't understand why so many other reviewers liked this book so much!

Rating: Summary: I'm a sucker for plucky heroines Review: C Dodd has done it again. I stayed up way too late in order finish this book. Danior needs a princess in order to fulfill a prophecy and assume his throne. Evangeline is she, no matter how often she refused, explained, argued, ran away...
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite romance novels Review: Christina Dodd has written one of my favorite romances of all times with this book. Though the premise is based on "The Misunderstanding", the book is not trite or boring. The book includes all that is necessary for me in a romance: in-depth characterizations, superb dialogue, a little danger and a lot of action, and a hero and heroine to love and cheer for. The only weak part of the book for me was the mysticism thrown in, but it doesn't really detract from the romance between two strong and very individual characters. If you like Julia Quinn, Stephanie Laurens, the early Amanda Quick, or Jillian Hunter, you will love this book.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable Read But Still... Review: Critics and learned folks will have a field day nitpicking the errors and inaccuracies in this book. Geographists will pooh-pooh the notion of a Pyrenese hot spring, entymologists will have an aploplexy over the contemporary jargon in this book, but I'm not fussy.I love this book. I love the fact that heroine is one superheroine, trust me, she can do anything short of flying (give her time however). And she gives as good as the stubborn mule-headed hero gives. Danior is way less exasperating that the donkey king Ransom in That Scandalous Evening. However, he committed a big no-no in my book - lying to heroine, telling her he loves her just because he feels women will weaken more that way. Luckily, Evangeline is too smart, he is doing it for some reasonable purpose (he wants to save his country after all), and he does love her, only he's too dingbatted to know it until the end. This could be a 5 star book, but the lack of perspective from Danior in this story mars the book. We are never privy to Danior's mind after he discover the true identity of Evangeline.
Rating: Summary: great food + great sex = great book! Review: Evangeline is one of the most unusual heroines you'll ever meet. How can you not love a gal who loves food the way she does? The action and adventure never stops. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how this wittily told, sexy romance would turn out!
Rating: Summary: A case of mistaken identity Review: Fairy tale prince meets commoner story, told with Dodd's habitual skill. Evangeline Scoffield of East Litle Teignmouth, Cornwall hadn't had an easy life. An orphan, she was fostered by a woman who, while not unkind, seemed more interested in learning than in caring for a young child. Having come into an unexpected inheritance, Evangeline is revelling in the opportunity to LIVE for once, not just read and study about life. She has come to France, near the Spanish border, and is having a fantastic time being mysteriously exotic. Until, that is, she is mistaken for a Royal Princess by Crown Prince Danior of Baminia whose betrothed, Princess Ethelinda of Serephina, disappeared when but a child. Their marriage has a prophecy attached, and it would appear that meeting the terms of the prophecy is the only way to keep their kingdoms together. So Danior is determined to make events turn out for the better - the better being marriage and the unification of their kingdoms. So determined that he kidnaps his `princess'. Together they journey to Baminia, avoiding for the most part the efforts of Danior's renegade brother, who wants to ensure that the prophecy is not fulfilled. And thus Danior and Evangeline, despite their misunderstandings, are drawn together as they run for their lives, and towards their future. Total suspension of disbelief is required for this book - the orphan who can successfully masquerade as a princess, elements of magic and a 1,000 year old seer being just a few examples. In this, the book is unlike any I have ready by this author. However I found it an enjoyable tale, and although Danior's attitude towards commoners was irritating, it is one of the few realistic elements in the book and had to be so to make the threat to Evangeline's happiness real. The sizzle between the two central characters was well developed, from the moment their eyes met until the conclusion of the book. And events being what they are, it is small wonder that Evangeline and Danior's feelings could grow in such a short time frame. Something a bit different to Dodd's usual fare, nonetheless I'm sure her regular readers will enjoy this tale, as will all readers of historical romance. Only be prepared for the fairy tale.

Rating: Summary: A FABULOUS, FUNNY FAIRYTALE!!! Review: I always love Christina Dodd's books, and this is one of her very best. Oh, if only we could all have a guy like Prince Danior. He's strong and domineering, but Evangeline really knows how to get the best of him. I laughed and cheered all the way through this one. Don't miss it!
Rating: Summary: Great book, an enjoyment to read. Review: I am a new reader of Christina Dodd's, and have been eating up every book of her's that I can find. I really enjoyed "Runaway Princess" and the twists and turns it took. I would have liked it to be more indepth at some points, but it was fun trying to figure out who was the real princess.
