Summary: Good, but a better ending...
Review: I sat up late reading this book, but was disappointed by the ending. It seemed a little harlequin-ish in that he left her, then she found him, then she left him, then he found her. Otherwise, the book was good, the heroine was wonderful (not a size 2, like someone else mentioned), and everyone lived happily ever after (or at least for one week, maybe).

Summary: top notch
Review: I thought this was an excellent book. I could not put it down-and that is hard to do when you have a two year old! I heard a lot about this book before it was released and it lived up to all of the expectations I had. Teresa did a great job with this one!!

Summary: Teresa Medeiros best work yet...
Review: I loved this book and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a uplifting read. I read this book in just one day. It is beautiful, positive and romantic story. This book is an excellant one to start out with but don't stop here! Read her other books they're all awesome especially " Nobody's Darling" and " Whisper of Roses".

Summary: Definitely a winner!
Review: This has to be the best book I've ever read. I read the book in one day because I couldn't put it down. Teresa Medeiros did a great job of making the beast sexy and almost scary, which was very intriguing. I love to feel apart of the books I read, and I felt that I was Gwendolyn. I was sad to see the book end. I wish there had been several hundred more pages.

Summary: The Bride and the Beast
Review: When I read a book I want to be taken into regions other than my every day life. Teresa Meideiros stories do that for me. This book contained humor, fantasy, and romance. The heroine was not a raving beauty but she had character and a good heart and she found her match in the hero. It is a keeper.

Summary: THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST IS A WINNER
Review: I was expecting a Beauty and the Beast spin-off, but with Theresa Medeiro's calibre I was enriched by the buoyant and enchanting fairy tale and is pleasantly delighted by the more confident writing in this Hardcover.

Not that her past novels like Touch of Enchantment and Charming the Prince are not engaging, but in the Bride and the Beast, she gives the familiar tale a face-lift, injecting elements like treachery, forgiveness and of course the riveting passion. Gwendolyn Wilder like Ms. Medeiros' heroine is intelligent and suffers the fate of being suppressed by her siblings like the promiscuous Nessa and Glyniss, and thinks herself inferior in the looks department. She is charmed by Bernard McCullough, the heir to succeed as the laird of Ballybliss but keeps her wistful thoughts at bay. But time abruptly runs out - he is killed in a treachery when his father harbours a Prince rebel from Cumberland and apparently his WeyCraig castle was torn asunder from the carnage. He returns to seek revenge on the village clan who had refused to help him by concocting a Dragon tale, and when Gwendolyn is offered as a virgin sacrifice, she finds Dragon irresistible and a penchant for love.

THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST is magical - Ms. Medeiros creates a transient fairy-tale realm, of castle and dragons. Their chemistry is no less incendiary from their banter, and of course the Beast is ultimately touched and revived by Gwendolyn's understanding. Their union is threatened when the revelation of the true identity of Dragon is revealed.

It gives a heartbreaking touch towards the end and the secondary romance between Tupper and Kitty is hilariously done.THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST revives the fairy-tale charm and fuels dreams in us - it is so much more with her emotional-drenched writing that charges up the plot - the only thing beastly is the miracle that this book can be so savagely tender at times.

Summary: A special romance by Teresa Medeiros!
Review: I always love Medeiros's books, but this one was perfect. The concept (laird who pretends to be a dragon to frighten his ignorant -- and disloyal -- villagers) was so original I was skeptical at first. Medeiros pulled it off beautifully, because she writes some of the most beloved characters in romance. I was cheering for these people all the way. What a great read!

Summary: A treasure at any price!
Review: I love being able to buy my favorite romances in hardcover because paperbacks just don't last the same. But I did think the price on this one was great. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down! I read it in one sitting and don't think I'll ever forget Gwen and her "Dragon". I've always been a fan of the "Beauty and the Beast" TV show and that's what this book reminded me of. I'd rather buy one great hardcover than two so-so paperbacks any day.

Summary: What a great book!
Review: I have read all books written by Teresa Medeiros. I eagerly look forward to the next one on sale! And as always, this one did not disappoint me. It was such a sweet story-I laughed outloud many times. Teresa M. has a way of making you relate to the characters;you can feel their pain and their love. She is such a great writer. I can't wait until the next book! Happy reading-

Summary: Wait for the paperback!
Review: THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST is Medeiros' version of "Beauty and the Beast" meets "Cinderella". There are a few good points--the bride is a larger-sized woman with a good heart and a strong personality, and she's intelligent to boot. Unfortunately, the book lacked that certain something that either makes or breaks a book for me. I also felt the bride's motivation for allowing herself to be "sacrificed" to the beast (which we discover at the end of the book) was totally out of character.

Not one of the author's best works. Wait for the paperback, as it's not worth the hardback price.
