Summary: new book, new favorite
Review: The bride and the beast was a lovely romance, not like some where the whole object is to praise a womans lush svelt golden body, or the mans bronzed muscles. It was more like what one would hope for on a odd day to make you feel comfortable and happy. The dialoge (or banter) was a lovely mix with the dark and sexy "dragon". The whole plot seemed to roll together to form one beautiful kiss and memory to another. Although the weeping part for the young Bernard that we lost is a bit much. I now have a new favorite romance to add to my selection. Thank you Teresa Medeiros.

Summary: THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST
Review: THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST is an interesting book which combines legend and fact, overweight insecurity, womens' promiscurity, a father's guilt and madness, and a lover's masquerade. All of the issues come together in the end and justice is served. The "happily-ever-after" conclusion was never in doubt. While it is a good book and worth the reading, it offers noting new. At times, I felt that portions of it were taken from the more well-know book.

Summary: Another great book.
Review: Although this book is different that her earlier efforts I still found it delightful. However, could the above editorial review give away more of the book, or what? Just because the reviewer didn't like the story they don't have to spoil it for the rest of us.

Summary: More from this wonderful author!
Review: This was the first book I read by this author, but it won't be the last. If you love the old Beauty and the Beast TV series or the Disney movie, you'll love this book. It was so romantic with Bernard watching over Gwendolyn while she slept and falling in love with his "captive". They said such funny things to each other. I loved Tuper and her sister, too. I laughed. I cried. And I never wanted the story to end. More, please!

Summary: A Disappointed Fan
Review: The atmosphere of the story was so dark and dreary. The plot was depressing. Gwen & Bernard could have been exciting figures but they seem boged down in the history of the village. Bernard as a shadow lover was well done. If Gwen had some vitality and was a caring thoughful person she would have insisted they leave the hateful, cowardly people of the village and move on to a brighter future. Not a keeper!

Summary: I loved this book!
Review: I've loved all of this author's books, but I think this is one of her best. The interactions between Gwen and her "Dragon" were so tender and funny. He seemed to understand her in a way that none of the villagers or her family did. And they were so sexy together, even when they were just talking. I bought the paperback, but now I'm off to search for the hardcover for my Keeper collection!

Summary: Not her best
Review: I love Medeiros' other novels, however this one just didn't cut it for me. I just couldn't understand how the herione could fall in love with "the dragon" so soon, they didn't talk to each other hardley at all, it was just like, this is a romance novel and so these characters are going to fall in love and then guess what? They are now in love, even though I wasn't sure how they got there so quickly. The whole book moved like that, you are just supposed to take it for granted that they "love" each other, when you're not even sure how this could be. I didn't feel anything for the characters, I didn't relate to them at all and couldn't make myself care about what happend to them. Read Medeiros' other novels, but skip this one.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not up to previous books
Review: Medeiros used to be one of my favorite romance authors. I look for and read each new release. However, the last two, Charming the Prince and Bride and the Beast, are too fairy tale-cartoonish for my taste. Earlier works such as A Whisper of Roses were far superior in my opinion.

Summary: Nominated for Award
Review: THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST was recently nominated for the Dorothy Parker Award of Excellence for Best Historical of 2000.

Summary: Some day my prince will be a Dragon?
Review: I must say this was one of the best books I have read by TeresaMedeiros. She is a wonderful author. It is not often that a book can[draw] you in to make you part of the story. (And oh my goodness Gwendolyn is not a toothpick!! Three cheers for Teresa!!) As I went along I could see myself in Gwens shoes and I felt for her. I cried for Bernard, for the boy he once was and the pains of trying to trust again. I'm not very good at this, without telling you the entire book. All I can say is it is a MUST read! I hope this has helped at least a little.
