Rating: Summary: One of my absolute favorite! Review: I have read all of her books and this one is my favorite! I love how the plot is held together. Elizabeth's ability to bargin is really amuzing and her strength to maintain her household is remarkable. Ian is just as interesting as his love. The whole story keeps you reading until the very end. I have read this book many times and I needed to replace my original copy. Fantastic Book!
Rating: Summary: absolutely wonderful Review: I thought this book was absolutely breathtaking. It felt as if you actually knew the characters. Not only did the book capture my attention from the very beginning but it held it all the way through and I found myself actually breathless in the last few chapters. I could not put the book down. I would definetely recommend this book to anyone who would love a great romance and since this is the first novel I've read from Judith McNaught, I can tell you it won't be the last!
Rating: Summary: HER VERY BEST Review: This one is Judith McNaught's best novel. Certainly my favorite of her writings.
Rating: Summary: Nirvana. Reborn Review: I love this book and this is, and will always be, my favorite romance novel. I find the heroine, Elizabeth Cameron, completely endearing. Extremely youthful and innnocent, she reminds me of a fairy tale princess. I realize that she has made grievious mistakes but I also take into consideration the fact that she has been abused by so many men in her life; thus, i find it easy to forgive her... Ian Thornton meanwhile, posseses the usual characteristics that mark most JM heroes (wealth, handsomeness, tough exterior, etc.) He has his own set of qualities that makes him very unique and distinct from the others, however. He's a genius who can calculate mathematical equations at the speed of light. He's an artist who can capture the finest details in a sketch. As a boy, he was able to absorb all the university textbooks by thirteen. He's an incredibly special person. Most of all...he was the first to fall in love-and ADMIT it, unlike the other heroes. He knew from the moment he laid eyes in Elizabeth that they were meant for each other. He has this way of saying the most romantic lines...'With my body I thee worship'...'Stay still, because our child is being concieved'...'I am the man you are going to marry'... I haven't found a book better than this, nor a man as romantic. There's just so much magic and emotion in all of the scenes that I often find myself having to buy a new copy because the previous one gets damaged after being read for countless times!^_^
Rating: Summary: Simply Wonderful! Review: the book takes you to the depths of your own mind, to get in touch with your your feelings... The way the relatioship between Jason Fielding and Victoria Seaton grows every page made me wish I was the character of the book... :o) Enjoy you reading! It'll be surely fun!
Rating: Summary: A BOOK TO BE READ MORE THAN ONCE! Review: I love all of this author's works without exception, and I read this one several time. A very good story. If you want to read another book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift!
Rating: Summary: I can't get enough! Review: wow... what a great book... I stayed up last night until 5:00 a.m. to finish this book.... I could not put it down FOR THE LIFE OF ME! Ian Thorton is every woman's dream man... honest, strong, intellegent, gorgeous (he says the most wonderful, romantic things... <sigh>), and Elizabeth is just as Ian called her "magnificent". When you read this book, you laugh with them, cry with them.... you wish you lived back then and knew them... Judith McNaught is truly gifted... It is now almost 12 hours after I finished the book (usually I'm just onto the next book by now) and I keep going back, re-reading favorite parts... re-living the excitement and wonder... feeling what they felt... It is a book like this that makes you sit back and reflect on what a wonderful thing it is to be able to read... get caught up in a story... This is my first of Judith McNaught's..... can anyone recommend one that is on par with this one?
Rating: Summary: Laughed Till I Cried! Review: Kingdom of Dreams made me cry. Almost Heaven made me do both. When Elizabeth cooked breakfast for Ian, I laughed so hard, tears came to my eyes. This is an excellent story with strong characters. Judith McNaught is the only author I've ever read that actually made me laugh and cry out loud.
Rating: Summary: A First-Rate Novel Review: Almost Heaven is fantastic. I fell in love with both Ian and Elizabeth. When Ian was cruel to Elizabeth, and deliberately hurt her, I actually ached for her. I was crying until the end of the novel. I love this novel and have re-read it numerous time.
