Rating: Summary: Almost Heaven... Review: This romance novel is well-written and solid. The story has a nice pace and the plot draws you in. Moreover, the characters are so loveable. Elizabeth is enchanting, strong, intelligent and beautiful, and Ian is the perfect man for her. He is practically a genius, charming, gorgeous, and protective. The ending of a novel is the most vital part of a book and "Almost Heaven" doesn't leave any questions unanswered. The ending is so strong and leaves you with a sweet closure that makes the characters stay with you and makes you want to revisit them often. If the author ever reads this review I would like to say thank you for an amazing story and breathtaking characters that came to life and seemed so very real. You have a wonderful talent and I look forward to reading more of your work.
Rating: Summary: Love, laugh, laugh, love, laugh Review: Wonderful romance, endearing characters, and HILARIOUS. Of the several McNaught novels I have read, this is the best. The usual McNaught is tragedy, drama, and narcissistic, tyrannical heroes. This book is a real exception. The tension is there, but so is the fun! Both hero and heroine are warm, likable people who get separated through unfortunate circumstances by no real fault of their own. Their reunion is reluctant and laugh-out-loud funny.
Rating: Summary: Almost Heaven Review: I have never been so swept up into a story before, as I was with this one. This book by Judith McNaught is by far the very best romance I have ever had the pleasure of reading. This incredible novel has everything you think a great story should have. It has a unforgettable cast of characters that you can fall in love with by the first chapter. And it is so wonderfully written, that it will be tugging on your heartstrings and making you laugh all at the same time. The fact that the writer includes characters from her other book "Something Wonderful" Makes you feel that you are truly part of their world. I have read numerous romance novels of all types, that have made me soar with passion and scrape bottom with loathing, of the characters. But never had I read a book, until today, that made me cry. So hard in fact, that I had to stop reading simply because I couldn't see the words through the tears. I cried for the pain and joy that the writer had caused me to feel, by way of the characters. The simple point is .. Read This Book once and You Will read it again and again. I did! Thanks
Rating: Summary: 2nd only to Paradise, but still an outstanding booK!! Review: Almost Heaven took my breath away. trust me, u'll instantly fall so deep in love with with Ian & Elizabeth, u'll get so caught up in their love it's like they dragged u into their lives & u can even feel what they feel, go through evrything that they're going through. their love is just so profound, Ian just says the things that'll make your heart melt, everything they do for each other is so sweet too. they had a misunderstanding towards the end, but when they make up...evrything's so worth it. i esp. love the moments in the cottage, & in the ball when she asked him whether there was anything he'd ever wanted so badly, & it was right in front him, but he was afraid to reach out for it? & when he asked her back....n she said 'yes, you.' .... my heart just burst. they have that effect on you :)) What they have is evrything u'll want in real life.....so if u really believe in true love, this is the book to read!!
Rating: Summary: Almost Heaven-Indeed it is!! Review: Almost Heaven is the most wonderful book I have ever read! I fell in love with Ian Thornton and almost wanted to jump into the book to clear things up with him and Elizabeth Cameron. It is very eventful and romantic and it deserves 100 stars instead of only five!!
Rating: Summary: Favorite book Review: Almost Heaven was the first book I ever read that Judith McNaught wrote. I have since read many of her other books because I loved Almost Heaven. I liked how the characters were portrayed and how the book had more than one conflict. Good drama and storyline. I definetly recommend this book and many other books written by Judith. She is one of the best writers that I have read yet
Rating: Summary: Coulden't Put It Down! Review: This is the first book I've read by Judith McNaught, and I simply loved it! I found myself entranced for the next 24 hours; I didn't put it down until I finished it. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: All-time favorite Review: This is one of the best books that I have ever read! I read it years ago, and I find myself comparing all others to this. In so many romance novels, I finish the story knowing that the couple loves each other, but I can't figure out why-they fight, bicker, and generally don't get along. But with Elizabeth and Ian, I knew why they loved each other. Judith let you know the details of their romance. They got along SOOO well. It wasn't just a physical attraction, like in so many other novels; it was true love. Now I feel like reading it AGAIN.
Rating: Summary: Simply the best! Review: This is by far my favorite romance novel. Elizabeth and Ian are believable characters - they are flawed and all too human. The storyline is fast paced and full of twists and turns. This book makes me laugh and cry every time I read it!
Rating: Summary: It's heaven! Review: I have read countless novels for many years, but Almost Heaven is undoubtedly still my absolute, number one favourite of all time. The love, humor, poignancy, and main characters are all unsurpassed and unforgettable. I have read it and reread it many times, and I still feel every heartwrenching emotion that Ian and Elizabeth experience. There are so many tender scenes that make me smile and cry all at the same time. Ian and Elizabeth's reunion in the Scotland cottage had me crying like I had never cried before! Judith McNaught is a goddess!! Her books have an irresistable charm that will make you fall in love... I cannot find the words to describe the magnificence of Almost Heaven. You will have to experience its unbelievable love and touching emtions for yourself... Could someone please recommend another book/author like Almost Heaven/JM? I have tried other authors, but was always disappointed. I have yet to find another author who can tap into emotions as deeply as Judith McNaught does...
