Rating: Summary: Almost Heaven is one of the best books that I have ever read Review: Almost Heaven is an extraordinary book that unfolds slowly, but keeps you engrossed in each page. Ms. McNaught is an excellent writer! She provides the reader with a history of the characters. You start to feel that you personally know each character. You laugh, cry and agonize over each page. This is an excellent choice to read at the beach or curled up in front of the fire on a cold winters day.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! I cried, laughed, and didn't put it down once! Review: This was the first book I ever read written by Judith McNaught and I was so enthralled that I couldn't put the book down. Her style of writing is so wonderful. I read one book and haven't stopped since. Every time she comes out with a new book, the reader gets the same quality characters but a totally different story!Elizabeth is such a wonderful but down-to-earth character and Ian is the perfect hero. I love the introduction of characters in future books as well. I couldn't waite to finish the book but at the same time I didn't want the magic to end.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous!!! A Great Read!!! Review: One of the great factors that make Judith McNaught a superb Romance author is her way of conveying emotions from her books to her readers, and Almost Heaven is just that. One can feel Elizabeth's triumphs(from circumventing Sir Francis Belhaven, chagrin(from being found of her devious plans by Lord Marchman) and her pain(for her love of Ian Thornton). In relation to her other books, however,Paradise and Almost Heaven have more intense plot than the others I've read so far.
Rating: Summary: Her best ever! Review: There are so many fabulous scenes in this book that I just keep returning to read time after time.... ... When Elizabeth visits her first two suitors, Sir Francis Belhaven and Lord John Marchman in order to turn them off the idea of marrying her -- a total scream! (Judith, please consider giving Lord Marchman his own story! He's absolutely charming.) ... The courtroom scene when Elizabeth must atone for her stupidity in running off with her brother (hey, we're all allowed to be stupid now and again -- nobody's perfect) by convincing the chauvinistic House of Lords that she's stupid featherbrain! (And Elizabeth is in fact the most intelligent and witty of McNaught's heroines.) ... Ian and Elizabeth's reunion in Scotland. That's probably one of the tenderest, most profound love scenes I've ever read. ... And finally, the epilogue. Only a stone-cold heart could fail to be warmed by Ian's explanation of heaven to his six year old son, Jonathon. One of my favorite scenes of all time! Treat yourself to Almost Heaven. It's romance at its very best!
Rating: Summary: A must read! Review: I have not read all of Judith McNaught's books, but I'm well on my way. I hope they are all as good as this one. I could not put this book down! I kept thinking about it during work and read it during every spare minute I had. It made me laugh and cry. Excellent!
Rating: Summary: Judith McNaughts best romance ever! Review: I loved this book. The first time I read was when I was in college. I needed something to read while I was home on my Christmas break. Needless to say I spent most of my holiday break searching for all of Ms. McNaught's books. She is without a doubt the best romance writer I have ever read! Her books make you laugh, cry and fall in love with the characters. You almost hate for the book to end because you'll miss the characters so much! I'd recomend this book to anyone who wants to lose themselves in romance!
Rating: Summary: I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! Review: This is one of my favorite books of all time! Judith McNaught knows how to make me cry and laugh at the same time. I highly recommend it! I've read it over and over and it never fails to make me feel good.
Rating: Summary: It is the best romance novel that I have ever read! Review: I don't believe that I have ever read a book like this before. The first time that I had read this was 6 years ago. It was so moving that I just couldn't put it down!! You can almost feel Elizabeth's emotions of the way she feels for Ian. You feel as though you are Elizabeth, and are transported to that era. Judith McNaught really knows how to keep her reader in her grips!! Even after 6 years I still read the book, and I just don't find it dull. I still feel a joyous contentment everytime I read this book. This book really knows how to push up your spirits when you're depressed!! I recommend this book with a gusto!!
Rating: Summary: ..... Review: Liked it but talking about the past was boring
Rating: Summary: ALMOST A DISAPPOINTMENT! Review: I have almost read all of JM novels except "tender trumiph" But This was the only book that I almost disappointed in...It was in the begining where the story went on about her past, i got so bored, then when they got down to the point i was happy until Elizabeth runs off with her "lover" or whatever...damit she can't even put two and two together..I mean why don't she just asked Ian about the truth since Ian would never lie to her, then she has every right to go...But no she doesn't want to hear both sides of the story so she runs off with her brother making hm feel like a jackass in front of England society!...The only thing that made me changed my mind about the book is how she wrote the ending...
