Rating: Summary: Heartwrenching! Review: Judith Mcnaught is AWESOME! I cried at the end of this book. it is so touching. I loved how Elizabeth told Ian that someday she hoped he would love and fogive her enough so that she would be able to forgive herself and then he used the exact words that came out of her mouth to forgive her and ask forgivness in return. I have only read 3 of Judith's books, but I am hooked BIG and I am on the hunt for all the rest that I do not have. Judith Rocks!
Rating: Summary: It's wonderful! Review: After reading my first Judith McNaught novel about a month ago, I can't stop reading her books. This one, like the previous four others, is just what I was looking for. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A treasure for always Review: When I was in the hospital recovering from an operation, I started reading this great novel. I've read almost every book of Judith and this one really was very special to me. It made me laugh and cry and I couldn't put it aside for one moment. I hope in the future to read more of Judith's splendid works. Kristin from Belgium.
Rating: Summary: Excellent!! Review: I could not put this book down! This is a timeless love story. I have read it over and over again, and I still love it!
Rating: Summary: 100% FANTASTIC Review: This is my first Judith McNaught book. I read it because of the excellent reviews given. Without a doubt, her book is exceptional. I enjoyed it immensely and definitely recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Favorite romance novel except for GWTW Review: I've read alot of romance novels, maybe 500-600 or so. This one is my all-time favorite romance and I enjoy re-reading it now and then. McNaught has a tongue-in-cheek method of writing which enables you to enjoy the humor inherent in the story--in this case the slimy Belhaven, the supposedly dull-witted hunter and fisherman Marchman, who turns out not to be so stupid after all; he has a heart. Ian Thornton is the best romantic character I've come upon yet. It is difficult to write in this genre, because the "rules" are so unvarying. For example, the main male character "has" to be dark-haired, with glittering green or silver eyes, handsome, smoke cheroots, hard on the outside, desperately in need of assurrance and sustenance inside, with a background of meaningless sexual actitivy. At least Judith manages to add some character development--Ian can read at the speed of light, and add figures like lightning. Obviously gifted, much to his chagrin. He had a sad childhood. The trial at the end is so well-done, and the suffering of the lovers is written in such a manner that you feel their pain acutely. Judith knows how to create sexual tension between the characters, and writes great love scenes. She never depends upon rape or violence to advance the plot. Many older romance novels depend on rape scenes and I think that is hateful; the worst thing you can do as an author is to use abuse of any kind to advance a plot. Use, instead, humor, interplay between the characters, and character development to let us truly know the characters. I like all Judith's novels, actually, but this is the best. She's the author I always come back to.
Rating: Summary: Another masterpiece Review: Once again, Judith masterfully spun a beautiful love story that truly touches everyone that reads it. It's pure joy to read a McNaught because it's a combination of witty dialogues and soul-wrenching love scenes. I laughed, I cried, and I marvelled at what a remarkable human being Judith McNaught must be to be able to write with such sensitivity, humour, and deep understanding of love.
Rating: Summary: Astounding ! Review: i must say this book was CAPTIVATING! Especially the the main characters...ie. Elizabeth and Ian. The fact that Ian Thorntorn is a very brilliant and smart man, i find him very admirable.I would wish that my future husband to have such intelectual quality. He is also a man of great principles, unlike the main men in Until You where Stephen Westmoreland treats women as garbage! The description on Elizabeth was so well written that i would wonder who could fit her role perfectly if a movie was made out of this magnificent stroy. This book proves that love is so strong that all sin is forgiven. A great book. NIce WORk !!!
Rating: Summary: HER BOOKS ARE VERY ENTHRALLING AND EXCITING! Review: She's a very good writer and knows how to get the reader where the person is there watching what's happening like a movie. I couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: One of my favs by McNaught Review: This is one of my favorites by Judith McNaught. I read this book last summer on a hot summer day on a boat. Nobody could pry me away from this great story! Needless to say I had quite a burn.
